A little out of the box here, but what about a Simmonds-Laughton-Read line to match up against Malkin and try to shut him down. (if they go the Coots v Crosby path, which I think i'm in favor of)

We have points in 10 of 11 games coming into the playoffs. I wouldn't want to rock the boat.

The key to this series for me is whether young, talented players that play critical roles for us like Provorov, Patrick, Konecny, Lindblom and Sanheim will sink or swim when tossed into the raging ocean that is their very first Nhl playoff experience.

You can add Hagg, Weal and Leier to that list too if they play.

Most of these guys must play and they will be taken to the limit in this series. There is nowhere to hide.

I'd def like to see Raffl and Laughten both step up in this dept. If Simmer can get it going and these two up theirs that would pay huge dividends.

Those are two guys that should have a solid checking series but they arent on the same line which hinders us from as physical as most teams in the playoffs. If Gudas is allowed to chip in and Hagg comes back it will be a lot more in our favor.

At 40-1 to win the cup and 16-1 to win the conference it is worth throwing down $100 on each.

The key to have any shot at winning this series boils down to 1) keep the penalties to a minimal, we know it's near impossible for this team not take any penalties, but if we can keep them well below normal, we have a shot of winning a low scoring game. 2) Containing Crosby will be huge, he is the machine that gets the Pens running on all cylinders imo. 3) Elliott will have to play at a different level and steal some games. If he shows signs of playing on his head, then that will spark the rest of the team.

With all of this said, I still think we will come up short and lose this in 6 or 7. That being said, we will physically wear the Pens team down enough so they will not 3peat.

Just out of curiosity why do you feel this?

I just think he can play a solid role defensivly and score some key goals. I feel he has more in his game to step up
