I was thinking to myself if there is any way that Hextall would trade pick 2 to any teams? The first team that comes to mind is the Avs for some reason? I wonder if they would trade like Duchense and a 1st rounder in return for #2? I have not really looked into this, just playing with the idea. I have no idea what a fair deal would be and also if that would even make sense (cap wise)?

Wouldn't do it unless we're getting Price or Rinne in return.

Getting a forward or defenceman in return, would make no sense with all our prospects,so IMO the deal should be a starting proven goalie, and maybe a 2nd round pick

Price would be interesting.

He's signed through 2017-18.Pick up a phone Hexy, and work some magic.
Montreal could us a sniper. Then again, we could use one as well. I'm not sure I surrender the 2nd pick unless we absolutely fleece someone in the deal.

Jake, Gee, Schenn, Ghost and Simmer were a combined minus 91. What can be done about that starting immediately.

I'm going to trust your math on that, but even despite those numbers, we finished 39-33-10 with 88 points. That's only 2 fewer wins than last year. Also, Nashville made it in this year with 94 points, which really isn't much more. They are well on their way to the conference finals already. If not for some extreme misfortune, we probably would've had 95+ points this season and been a playoff team. Who knows what happens then. We have a lot of young guys that could've really matured quickly.

They would be stupid to do this, They would be giving up their best goal scorer IMO. Right now their biggest weakness is defense and I don't see us sending a top defensive prospect to them. I would love to see Duchense inserted into our line up, he has all the things we are looking for. Landeskog would work too.

We are coming, but look at Carolina. They just signed Darling, have 10+ picks in this upcoming draft and have over $27 million remaining in cap space for next season.

That and they have 4 players in the top 16 of the IIHF scoring as we speak and these guys are all 24 or younger. Faulk, Hanifin and Slavin on defense too, and all of their defenders are 25 years old or less. They have an extremely young team, but otherwise it is going to be stacked eventually. Still won 36 games this season even. Elite level prospects on the way too, just like us.

They can keep Duchene. I would take Landeskog off their hands though at the right price. He is bigger, stronger, younger, cheaper, better defensively and also in a leadership role.

Yeah, he's signed for only one more season at $6.5 million. How much of a raise is he going to want though? Probably Lundqvist money, so close to $10 million. It would only ever happen if there were a sign and trade. They likely would want too much for him anyway.

Lol and you just listed all his awesome intangibles and he is their Captain, I think they would part with Duchene before Landy but either one would work for us.

Yeah, but teams do trade their captains when they are seemingly desperate for a change, which the Avs might be. We did it not too long ago with Richards ourselves even. Only now are we finally going to start reaping the true rewards of that trade.

Probably none of their players are untouchable at this stage.

Damn, the Preds let one slip away last night. They could easily be up 2-0. Rinne looks mediocre in this series.

The more I think about it, the more I see Laughton as the guy that gets plucked by Vegas.
