Yes, a lot of our top rivals are making moves, but when Elliott and Simmonds return 100% healthy, I think our goalie tandem is pretty strong and our forward group too if Lindblom sticks around.

Our defense will probably improve a lot just in training camp next season. There's no reason to blow our load on a rental anywhere.

A player like Reinhart isn't a rental, mind you, so that's something completely different. If we like the guy, then go get him.

I dont like the idea of having weiss and letera as regulars in the playoffs. Ill trust weiss more as his grit plays well in playoffs. Id like another 3rd/4th forward especially in case of an inevitable injury

Agree. I really like Reinhart and pretty familiar with him due to being in Buffalo and seeing a few games. Not sure if he is available and how much it would cost?

So unless we had something working in the back room closet, I think we are done making any trades. I think were good with what we have now, Keep Lindblom up and send away Lehtera or Weise when Simmer returns.

Very unreliable sources have the Flyers inquiring about Benoit Pouliot from Buffalo and Niklas Hjalmarsson from AZ. Pouliot wouldn't cost much but isn't a shoe-in to be an upgrade for the 4th line at this point in his career. Does still have some wheels, though. At first glance I couldn't see the Flyers taking on Hjalmarsson's contract (4.1 mil thru 2019) but...what if the trade was MacDonald and one of Sanheim , Myers or Morin? Hjalmarsson would be a clear upgrade over MacD in the short-term and with one year less on his contract, but you'd lose a top prospect.

Come to think of it adding Lindblom may be better than any trade that they can make as they lose nothing. With Manning playing like he has do they even need a Dman upgrade? Couldn't hurt but it's coming from within soon enough... hard call.
100% on the money with this post.

Sam Reinhart is in the last year of his rookie contract and will be a RFA next season so we would have to pay him plus lose a couple of good players in the trade.

I'm a little pissed about the brassard trade. Apparently Winnipeg had a deal and Vegas got involved eating 40% of his salary for pit otherwise they couldn't do it. Although their D was weakend losing Cole and they are getting older. Either way if Vegas doesn't get involved it doesn't happen. Philly will kick their ass anyway!!!

I'd like to see the Flyers get Hoffman not an idiot like Kane. That would add a little extra firepower and may put them over. Not a rental either... that guy was good tonight.
Cole got flipped to the Blue Jackets

If we are in the market for a true rental Tomas Vanek has 41 points and only makes 2 million

I really don't want to see Frost, Sanheim, or Hart moved. That's the key for this deadline IMO.

I am open to moving a first round pick though if that can bring back something useful. But I think E. Kane is over rated, not sure anyone else is really worth a 1st round pick.

Id like to add Morin and Meyers to that list. I think we are playing so well right now Hexy stands pat today.

How about that second line of Lindblom, Patrick and Voracek? Between those two rookies at even strength and on the top power play unit, we can almost accidentally forget that Wayne Simmonds (a perennial 30 goal man) is injured. Jake is teaching these kids and they are apparently a quick study. That and Lindblom obviously prepared himself for the Nhl very adequately at the Ahl level before returning.

I mean, that could soon be line 1B for us, which is saying a lot considering how well Konecny, Giroux and Couturier have played as the definite top line.

If we can upgrade our third line and penalty killing without breaking the bank, I am all for it, but perhaps we're even doing that from within the organization.

Between Provorov, Konecny, Hagg, Patrick and Lindblom, there's a lot of young talent that looks very comfortable in Philly right now.
I always thought he needed a 1/2 year in the AHL to adjust to the rink size and speed at this level. Although he doesn't have any points (yet) he is always around the puck and a lot of times in front of the net. I get the feeling that once he does score, they will come in bunches.

I think we should go after someone like Tom Pyatt from Ottawa. 1 more year at $1.1, wont cost much and is an immediate upgrade on the PK. Only a -5 on a bad team.
