The St. Louis Blues meanwhile are in serious danger of missing the playoffs entirely, having lost four straight and clinging to the final spot out west. Three teams are very close behind them to take it.

If it happens, the extra 2018 1st round pick we got in the Schenn trade becomes a lottery pick. Then we would be a playoff team that still has a pick with at least a small chance of being top 3 or #1 overall. The further they fall, the more we benefit from it.

13-15-2 over their last 30 games. That's more than just a slump, that's a team seriously trending downward. They will miss the playoffs by a lot if it continues and we will reap the rewards.

There is no question in my mind that the Flyers win the Shenn deal. 2 first round picks is very high value in this day

My bold prediction is that Mrazek may be the starter come playoffs. If Elliott is healthy he would deserve the shot but I can see him taking over. The guy has been good in the past and should be a very good bridge as he stays healthy.

If it ends up being a top ten pick, they can defer it to 2019, but then they owe us a 2020 3rd round pick as well.

Either way, I am liking that pick more and more with each passing day.

I will make you an Avi bet. If St Louis misses the playoffs i will put anything you want in my Avi for the entire summer and if St Louis makes the playoffs you have to put B Schenn in a St Louis Uni in your Avi.

The way our goalies have been dropping we should just hope Mrazek is around to play in the playoffs if needed.

Blues lost to the Jets last night at home 4-0. 3-6-1 in last 10 games. They currently have a 1 point lead over the Kings for the 2nd wildcard spot but Kings have played 1 less game. If the Blue pick is in the top 10, they can keep it this year and it becomes a 1st in 2019. If they defer to 2019, we also get a 3rd. I have seen articles that Morgan Frost will have a real shot of making the roster next year.
