It is an organizational strategy to not invest in the OL (Williams is the exception, obviously). They (right or wrong) believe that OL can handled by going through the scrapheep.

You gotta have a phenomenal OL coach then.

Callahan did wonders for Cleveland. But they also heavily invested

It's insane cleveland got Amari for a 6th. That was a robbery.

We all thought his contract when he was traded was SO bad. But now like 2 years later and it is a steal.

Same thing is happening in the NBA currently. Contracts sign just last year look like steals moving forward with the way the cap is accelerating.

He is tough to evaluate.

He was a 4th option in that offense more often than not. And he certainly benefitted from coverage rolling to other players.

But at the the same time, his numbers are nuts.

People dont realize how good a 15.4 ypc average is when you also have a 70% completion percentage on the balls headed his way. That's his numbers the last 2 years. Usually to get a WR catch rate hovering around 70%, you have to do a lot more short passes and see that ypc dip into the 11-13 yard range.

But he also was EXTREMELY pedestrian once he got to the playoffs. That was my biggest knock on him and why I probably wouldnt do the deal if I was the Steelers/Browns/Pats.
Yeah I am not saying he isn't a damn good player but it comes to a point where the diva outweighs the talent. This could be a one time thing but only time will tell.

You all just need a healthy CMC come playoff time.
That is always the case with RBs. But dude is a beast. If he isn’t bleeding after the first series of the game, that means Purdy probably threw a lick with his first pass.

KNBR is now completely shitting on this rumor. They just called Fillipponi nothing more than a “fan account”.
How does he have 100K followers. This is exactly why in every sport it is good to stick to a couple of guys, that very rarely get it wrong.

NBA - Woj and Shams
NFL - Schefter and Rapoport

This guy has been banging this drum for weeks/months.

Spec is he's with Aiyuk's agency, which is how he also called Tua and Love before anyone else did.

I am not a fan of filtering through a few elites, but being more selective and critical of sources is a good idea in general. Especially in the SM age.

Of course they won't. They should have traded him before the draft. It's up the organization and the player but had to get this hammered out before the draft

A lot of sources are just opinions or rumors. Of course guys like Schefter only report things when they get the information and the deal is done. Rumors are fun though, right or wrong, especially during FA

Getting a 1 for him has NEVER been on the table (at least a “current” 1). I haven’t heard from ANYONE (credible) that ever claimed getting a 1 back in trade was a serious expectation.

Seems like it's Steelers or nothing, since Aiyuk can and has nuked another deal and already locked in it being PIT.

That takes away most of the leverage for SF, either trade him for what Pitt offers, or live with Aiyuk as a $14 million malcontent.

The delay might only be in how much Omar Khan can lowball them.

....and people seem to forget that he acted up early in his career too and needed to be babied along in SF.

Dude was a late first round pick. He's obviously well outperformed that but he isn't in a financial position to piss on 14 million either.

This is what him and his agent planned. They know what they wanted from the start. If SF has balls they don’t accept until they truly feel like they get an offer they expect. PIT will continue to lowball. Best case Aiyuk stays on SF and maybe at some point they work out a deal. Worst case he sits obviously but that would be a horrible look

I don't see him sitting.
