Kind of a no brainer for the Niners to nip that in the bud. I think for Williams it was more about just the guaranteed money than anything else but he obviously feels he should be up there near the top for non QBs and probably rightfully so. Without him, the Niners offense really doesn't function even close to their top end. And he likely is looking at the twilight of his career coming soon.
