Actually reading the tweet that was linked to the article it sounds more like Sliver was speculating rather than it being some real information he had from a source.

It's kinda the issue with journalism in general in that it becomes a giant game of telephone and they all take each other's information and tweak and spin it over and over again.

Yeah, words like "reportedly" and "sources say" and all that to get clicks as much as anything. Very little actual investigative journalism in the world anymore. I more or less just tune it all out and wait for the actual resolution to the situation to unfold. Whatever happens will happen and my guess is my team still has to deal with Aiyuk on the roster the 2 (or maybe 3) times we have to face the Niners this season. But we shall see.
