he,s being divaesque now.
Which is so weird. All the Niners beat writers have said this Diva-turn he has taken this off-season is VERY out of character for him. You gotta wonder if he has someone in his ear telling him that this is the way he needs to be in order to get paid.

Friends, family, agent...it is difficult for young athletes making a ton of money to block the outside noise. People getting in his head

I think he needs to be active 6 weeks to accrue a year towards FA.
He also needs to report on time and in excellent physical condition, which he did.

The 2024 WR franchise tag is $21.8M. Recent contracts may push that above $25M next year, but it won't reach $28M. If he plays 6 games and holds out he could be tagged in 2025. His best choice might be to play for $26M this year with a no-tag, no-trade clause, but there's no reason for the 49ers to offer him such a deal.

They already have him in the fold for 14. If he wants to double that, AND have the Niners give up their ability to tag him, he needs to GIVE them something. I don’t see that as a possibility, though. Maybe he can get a raise with nothing else changed (to avoid him holding out). But no way will he get a raise AND a no-tag clause. The tag is the Niners’ entire leverage point. No way will they just hand that over for nothing.

Wasn’t Pit reportedly only doing 28M aav? But for how long, and how much guaranteed.

As for the trade demand, Pit reportedly has not offered anything close to a fair package to the Niners. So unless they up their offer to the Niners, that is a non-starter
If you look at past trades for a player in this spot the compensation is usually one or two mid to late round picks. The trade value is never that high when the team receiving the player has to give that player a big raise and a new deal. Ayuik is currently not playing football and refuses to play on the last year of the current deal. That means that the Niners don’t have much leverage in a trade.

The 49ers keep acting like he has AJ Brown prime or peak Tyreek Hill or Devantae Adam’s value in trades, he doesn’t.

It’s weird. On one hand they’re saying he isn’t worth being paid like a top 10 WR but they want trade compensation commensurate with a player of that caliber.

Yet again it’s evident that the game is rigged against the players.

If the reports are to believed Aiyuk has shot down 2 trades already. That's my beef with his position. SF has tried to get him his deal and he's tanking his own trade value. I appreciate he doesn't care but when he digs in like this he puts SF in a position where they can just ride it out with him and him potentially lose a year of tenure.

I still think he wants to be a 49er.
