This is a close match-up, as they all are at this point. I think my lineup is stronger through 9 and I think I have a slight edge in starting pitching and bench.

I got Smitty in a very close matchup. Wow both teams look good.

I would take Smitty's bats and UK's starting pitching, Bullpens are a wash. This is a very tough one to call. Each teams advantage is not a huge advantage either.

In the end I think UK takes it....in like inning 15 of game 7

I think Smitty hurts himself trying to get everyone a split, and it isn't even the Ramirez/Thome split that does it. Unless he's messed it up - he's throwing Strawberry in against lefties (.238/.319/.444/.763) as well as Jim Edmonds (.252/.332/.434/.766). Manny should never be taken out of the line up - so even if Strawberry's supposed to be against righties and not lefties (.270/.376/.538/.914) there still is no reason to bench Manny's .305/.399/.575/.974.

Both guys have good rotations, but UK's is just stronger. Though Seaver and Dean are solid, It's gonna be difficult for them to overcome facing 2 of the top 5 LHPs all time - especially with the line up set up in a way that, the way I see it, gives Johnson and Ford a huge advantage over the bottom half of the line up.

I have UK in this one - and it might even be a sweep, as giving UK a 6-9 in the line up with a combined .256/.329/.409/.738 is just too much to ask the top 5 to make up for when they'll face lefties 3 of the first 4 games.

To be fair I really don't think he meant Edmonds and Strawberry in against lefties

Manny should absolutely never be taken out of the lineup. He has a .974 OPS against righties. Pitching is a wash in my view but UK's lineup is slightly deeper. I lean UK

Two very good teams, I gotta lean UK as I like the lineup more, I again don't understand why so many added a 6th to the bench instead of to the pen especially for UK who has a pretty weak pen. Maybe he did try but I think Smitty should have tried to move Thome, Thomas or Manny for another SP or a better RF. Just my opinion.
