Game Thread: 10.8 Duck the Fodgers Game 1

One of my sons is getting married thiw weekend so I'm following on the MLB app.

Webb, Tyler Rogers (two pitches, one out) and Camilo Doval (nine pitches, three outs) only threw 103 pitches to the Dodgers on Friday night, which is the fewest pitches they’ve seen in a nine-inning game since 2015.

I’m gonna say the key to Webbs success last night was there were no long drawn out innings on offense. Giants got the runs they needed and got him back out on the mound. He didn’t have to run the bases which kept him fresh and the feel for the pitches that were working.

Yup. I rewatched this morning. Those doubles were clobbered too. Both on really bad pitches far from where Buster was framing. Every pitcher every outing has some bad pitches but the Doyers didn't miss the few times Webb made a mistake.

Anyway, I'll be there tonight. I need excellence out of Gausman.

It was just luck. The Giants don’t belong on the same field as the best team in MLB history, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

If the Dodgers' hitters are putting good swings on every bad pitch they see, Gausman will need to be just as good as Webb. Hopefully, the Giants' hitters can continue to punish the Dodgers' pitchers' mistakes too.
