You cosigned this though, pitching and defense, the tzill way.

Giants are 11th out of 30 teams in runs scored so far also, between the Mets and Phillies. 7th in runs allowed.
Runs scored is the only category they are not bottom 10 in. bottom 10 in almost everything else. It's not sustainable.

Chub series:

Roupp v Boyd
JV v Rea
Ray v Brown

They've got the advantage game 1
Game 2 is interesting. JV on an upswing, Rea is a 5 and dive guy
Gam3 3 we've got the advantage.

I want 2/3 here boys before we go to Minny.

Harry was approaching ridiculous results in AAA. He needed to come up. I don’t know who is going into the rotation next. Both Bird and Harry have strong cases. I do know that Hicks should be coming out of the rotation. One, he’s been a very effective reliever and two, he hasn’t had a quality start since his first game. Simply put, I’m kinda sick of his shit. The easiest transition is to have him move to the bullpen. He could even become a high leverage arm there.

And he would give us a second lefty in the pen.
Yeah, but it’s not like Miller has been overworked. I think I’d prefer him starting given how he’s ramped up in AAA but in BoMel I trust.

I don’t trust in BoMel to the same level as I trusted in Bochy, but I absolutely grant that the coach’s know 1000x+ than I do, so they get every tie breakers AND extra bonus points on top of that whenever my opinion differs from their actions.

Given that, having an additional lefty option I thinks adds a lot. Just because Miller hasn’t been over used yet doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been used in situations where they would have liked to use him (or another lefty).

Given THAT, I would prefer to see Harry in the rotation, though. He has a mile high ceiling and while not great last year, he was effective. Birdy was acceptable last year, and has been amazing as a bulk pitcher this year. He WILL be a rotation mainstay eventually. But we have a cart-full of graduation-level SPs atm. It will take some time for them all to settle and find their own buoyancy.

I don't like what should be the top picks for rotation replacements both pitching out of the bullpen. That means they either get skipped when a starter is needed or they will have to ramp up their pitch count slowly.
