Giants after first 2 NLDS home games: 2010: Tied 1-1 2012: Down 0-2 2021: Tied 1-1
Samesies. Just bought tickets to game 5.Key takeaways from me:
1. Gas never had command. Even when he settled down he couldn't locate the splitter, and the slider was wonky all night. He gutted it out with less than his best stuff.
2. They were getting Urine early...threw 40 through two innings. They needed to stick to the plan but the 3rd inning was just awful. They got impatient, which was weird.
3. I couldn't tell from my sight lines, but it looked like Hernandez missed some key calls.
4. The two moments that turned the game for me: Gas giving up the single to Urine and the blown strike three call to Taylor.
5. Sliver linings: McGee looked dominant. Shittell won't be used again in the playoffs.
6. The Flores gaffe was bad, but the game was decided by then. Over at 6-1.
7. Mostly, I chalked this up to "one of the sixty." We weren't going to sweep the Dogs. Also, pretty unlikely they win 3 in a row vs us. Game 5 Thursday and I'll be there.
Yeah he was awful both ways. I remember shaking my head for Giants and Dodger pitchers
My thinking as well. Kapler recognizes the Dogs seem to own Disco, so Wood (former Dog) may be the better option vs. Scherzer. If we lose game 3, then game 4 becomes all hands on deck. We could even see an opener and then Disco come in later. We just need to get to Webb in Game 5.My guess is that they may be looking at Game 4 options if they lose to Scherzer in game 3. I think Disco is a better starting option than Wood.
