at the very end everyone should do 1 post for their team on the mock draft update page-

included- a copy and paste of the team logo

a roster with starting lineup

a brief statement- about why you think your team is what it is (good, bad, for now, for later), the kind of style you envision your team playing , etc.

HurricaneDij's League analysis to this point:

Teams I like - Warriors (@CitySushi ), Clippers (@Mecca ), Celtics (@ChrisGar15 ), 76ers (@ericd7633 )

Teams that have grown on me - Thunder (@WiggyRuss ), Pelicans (@Johnnydollaz89 )

Teams high on talent but low on intangibles - Knicks (@Shanemansj13 ), Bulls (@purguy12 )

The mediocrities - Lakers (@wlk3 ), Nets (@ehb5 )

Teams I see struggling - Mavericks (@handicappers ), Bucks (@jwolt92 )

The "Uugh" teams - Rockets (@UK Cowboy ), Hawks (@MilkSpiller22 and all three of his fringe-starting centers)....

Woohoo!!!

Hi guys: I have to back out of the draft. My internet connection has slowed to a halt the past couple days and we don't know what's wrong with it. Being that I don't want to hold things up I've decided to back out. i had a lot of fun doing this and hope to get to do it again if you do another 1 but for right now I have to leave.

I like the NBA 2k idea. and simulate up to this todays game. and every or at the end of each week post the scores and record. How much fun would that be. I know it would take alot of work by the team that would put it together.

the thing that is going to be tough about this is that everyone is going to vote with very different ideas of what makes a good team.

It's subjective.

I will be basing my vote on what they can do in the present along with having some young guys that can carry the load a few years in the future.

I see some win today rosters that can run half the Teams easily. But, have very little future talent.

That will be hard for me.

Maybe we can vote for a win now Team and vote for a Team of the future?

Also....

We shouldn't be allowed to vote for our own Team.

Just a question: How am I low on Intangibles. I have my Vet leader, my MVP, got 3pt shooting, Athletic Big, 2-3 guys that can play D, my Stretch 4(back up), 2-3 players that can drive to the basket. I think I mixed it well. Im not saying Im the best team but overall my goal was to have a little bit of everything. I think I succeeded in that.

only way of making sure that no one voted for themselves in to make the vote open. U can see who people voted for.

Or let everyone vote for themselves if they want. (not sure what voting proposal is ... maybe vote for top 6 teams in order?)

Even if everyone votes for themselves (as #1 ranking for example) -- it really just cancels out as long as there is a ranked weighted list.

I'd say let everyone have a vote, top 3 teams right now, top 3 teams for future. No voting for yourself. Makes it easier to be objective if you know you can't vote for your own team.

I think having an AP style vote would be cool. There are a lot of directions we can go with this.

This works. Just got to make sure you turn off injuries before you do the full season simulation.

:agree:

Just have to be willing to dig.

The 3 picks that brought good value in the recent rounds were Asik, Ezeli and Henson.

I wanted all 3 of them....lol

Really like the Nance Jr. And Exum picks for the future.

Nene was nice pick as well... Easily 20 guys I feel can add to a team right now, and another 20 for the future... Some of those guys I'm referring to could help now and later... :noidea:

for the 'Future" are you guys looking more at perceived talent, or what they have done so far??

are you expecting players who have not yet become to good to make that jump??

Everyone will have different ideas on that.

My opinion though, potential is a crap shoot. Many of the young players who have already been drafted will not end up being more than minor role players. If they have not already broken out, there are absolutely no guarantees.

Personally, I am not giving much credit for young players who "might" be good. Titles are won by seasoned vets, not by 25 year olds. In 3 years, most first and second year players will still be figuring out how to win whether they have broken out or not.
