2000 Ravens (16-4). I watched it last night. It was interesting. That was a badass defense. It allowed over 10 points only 5 times in 20 games. Four shutouts. Allowed 165 points in the regular season (10.3 PPG). Gave up a total of 23 points in four playoff games (5.75 PPG). All together allowing 188 points in 20 games (9.4 PPG).

They went 5 weeks without a TD and still won a Super Bowl.

You should have posted this on Ravens board - somebody would have seen it in 2-3 years?

This defense was similar to the Grits Blitz of the 1977 Falcons (7-7). Difference being the Ravens had a better offense, made the playoffs, and won the Super Bowl.

The 1976 Steelers started out 1-4......then ran the table going 9-0......they let up 28 points in those 9 games, 5 shutouts and only two TD's.....not too shabby.....

The Steel Curtain...one badass crew. Those 5 shutouts included 3 straight and 2 straight. 3.1 PPG allowed the final 9 games of the season. Held opponents to 6 points or less in 8 of those 9 games. Unbelievable. It ended up losing to the Raiders (16-1) 24-7 in the AFC Championship.

The Giants managed 152 total yards that day and threw 4 interceptions..... 22 years later teams were throwing first round draft picks for the rights to hire a HC that served as the offensive coordinator that day.

Meanwhile, the architect of that amazing defense never won a single playoff game as a HC.

I thought you were talking about OldSchool and TGann, Money was always a gentleman!!
There's a couple names I haven't heard in a while... I'm sure the retirement home finally took away OldSchool's internet privileges. TGann is probably still out there blazing trails...er... bridges
