I assume he will take the "C" but you never know. Depends on who your coach is, sometimes they have a different perspective. I can't see anyone on the team more deserving, which would probably move Ellis:L and probably TK or Hayes as the other "A"s. This is just all speculation on my part though.
Im voting for JVR to wear the C. :pound::pound::pound::pound:

Somehow this team needs to come together. Even if they don’t have enough talent to win much, they can be cohesive.

I don’t have the answer - I just would love to see something like you see at Carolina. Maybe Brind-amor is a unicorn, but that team just has what I’d like to see.
Winning brings a team together in a hurry. Once we start doing a lot more winning you'll see a cohesive team product on the ice every night.

Looking at the cap situation makes me sick. Couts and Ellis Hopefully) come back. That's the good news, but that leaves about 6 million. I would like to see Frost, MacEwen, Tippett and maybe Hogberg resigned and at the NHL level. Also resign Allison, but who knows if he can play a season injury free. After those guys, we still need a backup goalie.

No one in their right mind would trade for JVR, so we have one more season with his cap hit. TK could bring some value, but we are short of goal scores as is. Provy has value and somehow Sahheim ended as a plus 9 on the year. Can we risk giving up Provy with Ellis' health such an issue? Lindblom? He may be forth line which is pricy at $3,000,000.

Unless the kids, Frost, Brink, Tippett, Cates, York and Attard can make huge improvements, I don't see next year much better than this one. At least I will watch the 1st round of the draft. As a Rams fan, I don't recall having any interest in a 1st round for years.

We need so much and i agree with mostly all of this. I think we could do without Provy as we arent winning anything next year anyway so why not trade him if the price is right. TK should go as well as much as i love his game right now he brings as much value today as he probably ever will as a Flyer plus Brink is the TK 2.0 with much better skating ability. Linblom needs to go he is just not good enough at three million. I thinkSandstrom will be the back up next year. I dont think he is good at all but he will be cheap i guess. Hopefully we dont try to re-tool and we just rebuild.

As a Rams i blocked out this hockey season and kept my memories of the past Super Bowl close at hand.

P.S i thought Attard made significant improvement and will be a solid defenseman for us.

Calgary vs Florida

Besides Edmonton and Carolina i would trade our roster for about 25 other teams
Im going to stick with my Stanley cup prediction from my above post i made in January.

Anyone sticking with theirs?

There was 39 points in between us and the last playoff team in our division this year.

Just how do we get good enough to make up a 20 game difference?

Do not believe it can happen next year. Healthy Coots, Hayes and Ellis maybe gets half way there. Read the article on Ellis - hard to believe it took 5 months to figure out what is wrong with the guy. What makes us think he will be reliable at all next year.

Trade for 2023 draft picks this summer and tank the season. Hope for 23/24.

From the Athletic report cards:

Cam York: NHL-ready, should be in 2022-23 opening night lineup.
Noah Cates: NHL-ready, should be in 2022-23 opening night lineup.
Owen Tippett: NHL-ready, but on the bubble for playing time in 2022-23.
Ronnie Attard: Probably starts in AHL, but pushing for a quick call-up.
Igor Zamula: Likely to start in AHL, but talent-wise, he’s ready.
Ike Ratcliffe: NHL-ready, but needs to fight his way up the organizational depth chart.
Hayden Hodgson: Likely an injury call-up option for now.
Felix Sandstrom: Possibly gone; if he re-signs, he won’t be handed an NHL job.
Bobby Brink: Ticketed for AHL to start 2022-23.

I dont know what this guy was watching to declare Tippett is on the bubble next season. He is at the very least a good bottom 6 on our team and IMO will should make the team easily.
He got it right with Sandstrom: He is not very good and should be gone but we will probably make him the back up.
I think Brink could be a top 6 next year and deserves to play for the big club and develop in the pros
Everyone else i think he got it right.
