It will be a...not so much intriguing six weeks (other than watching a few youngsters who will not be breaking camp with the team) and at the end of it I don't think there will be very many surprises. I don't think I am going out on much of a limb predicting the following 26-man roster when camp breaks:
SP#1 - Gilbert
SP#2 - Kirby
SP#3 - Miller (yeah, it's Miller. Castillo has fallen off)
SP#4 - Castillo
SP#5 - Woo (but if he has a healthy year, he could rise to #3 or #2)
Long relief/spot starter - Hancock (can't keep him in Tacoma another year)
Middle-inning relief - Thornton
Middle-inning relief - Snider
Left-handed relief specialist #1 - Speier
Left-handed relief specialist #2 - Saucedo
Mop-up relief - Vargas
Setup relief #1 - Brash
Setup relief #2 - Santos
Closer - Munoz
DH - Garver
C - Raleigh
1B - Raley
2B - Polanco
SS - JP
3B - Solano
LF - Robles
CF - Julio
RF - Aroz
Utility infielder/outfielder - Moore
Utility infielder - Mastrobuoni
Utility outfielder/DH - Haniger

Players most likely to get optioned to minors - Hancock, Mastrobuoni, Vargas
Players most likely to get traded before the deadline - Castillo, Gilbert, JP, Moore, Thornton, Santos, Solano, Polanco, Robles, Hancock, Bliss, Ford
Players most likely to get released - Haniger, Garver, Mastrobuoni, Vargas,

That should be good for about 83 wins

If any of the top 3 SP’s miss any substantial time whatsoever. This is a sub .500 team for sure.

What a shame…

Spring training has always been something that brings me a lot of excitement and hope. This year feels different. I feel defeated. I feel bummed out after this club has done nothing this past offseason.

Only thing I’m excited for is the pitching. Anything else is meh. This season is meh. Low expectations = less disappointment.

Crazy fking thing is, had this org got serious about winning 2-3 seasons ago, they would actually be in prime position right now to take over the AL west. Except they fell flat on their face after reaching the postseason 1 time.

Well the big difference between the M’s and them in their younger players took early extensions. Only Julio and Evan White took extensions. The Cubs have a higher payroll but it’s not like they ever go “all in” and same with the Braves. The Braves and M’s are very comparable except the Braves have more hits with the draft, int FA and trades.

I have harped on this but the Mariners would be the Braves today if Jerry sold at the 2018 trade deadline but Jer bear decided 2 months too late that he would do a rebuild.
I can't put Braves and Mariners in the same boat. Their management is far superior and know when to resign players, cut or make that trade to contend. Jerry is clueless on all these issues plus cheap bastard owners.

I would love to be like the Braves.

My point is I don’t think any of us would think Jerry is clueless had he decided to do the rebuild in 2018. I truly feel they’d have a WS ring had he done it.

Big difference is they put winning first so what they spend will be off set by keeping the stadium filled, massive merch sales, tv rev and postseason rev. They're banking profits while giving the fans a winning ballclub.

The medium market won't spend until they know they're a player away from playoff/WS run.

Then we have the shit stains of MLB which is where the M's are. Shit owners who hate the fans but love their money making them rich. It's truly a shame they can't figure out if they got a premium bat and 2 above avg bats, make a WS run they'd be banking so much more money and would be considered the best owners to ever own the M's. Yet here we are with a garbage lineup not really enthused about spring training.
That..about ....right .but.
All teams..have..owners...
A lot..they act..the same ...

What mariners...have ..been.
Going threw .
In finding.out...were..the owners.are.
now ...we and the front.office..know

We're they are.....

In the poor house...in comparison..

Is it still .a..re build...??..
The real story..is..

It was .and is ..a re imagine..
The organization..

Something
The mariners .have never done .
Until...know..
And this re-build ..

So it has taken .longer .
But .the ..good news .is .the .position.
Players..
Are on the door step...
Witch they have not been .

Before now ...

Yes they went to the playoffs..
But it was an .anomaly...

Cuz position players in the minors
We're
No where in sight...
Know they are..

Now now don’t be such a Debbie downer

One quick look at the Mariners schedule and the promotional item shows that at least a few times during the season not only do you get a fantastic bobble head by attending one of their sleeper Weekday games. But instead of One Single Game, giving away the bobble heads it’s for the entire series.

Just think of the good it does for all those Third World countries children who are slaving away in those bobblehead factories to put out triple the amount for the Seattle Mariners.

If that doesn’t give you that warm and fuzzy feeling about this season, I don’t know what will
I'm especially looking forward to Bark In The Park night when we get the unique opportunity of stepping in a steaming pile of dog poop while walking to the beer vendor.

I’ve never gone. But is it as annoying as having babies/little kids on planes

LOL. I don't know. I was just being my usual sarcastic self. I haven't been to a Bark In The Park night either.

Us fans are in the poor house with an ownership group that doesn't give a crap about putting the best team on the field.
