It’s fine if you don’t like Nurkic as a defender but why is dropping LBs and becoming more mobile a problem for his defense? Shaq doesn’t play in the league anymore. You don’t need a Big to be beefy to defend.

He’s probably 22-23.5 but when you’re looking to get him to leave a situation he liked this is what it takes.

It will make him more switchable which is important for the reasons you already presented about their personnel.

I never said it was, people can dig all they want though. It’s kind of hard at the moment but nothing is forever.

That's why I thought the comparison was a bit wonky in establishing worth.

My initial point is that I don't know who is going to want to trade for a $30M per for a paint big like Allen in the near future, so they are essentially locking him to their roster with the extension. We've seen how the apron rules have shifted teams' spending habits overall. Maybe as the cap continues to expand that will change, but we'll see how the athleticism holds as he nears/passes 30.

They were his third choice apparently lol. He holds citizenship in 3 countries, Cameroon would've been first if they were competitive at all. He only became a French citizen in 2022 for previous international teams, not exactly a permanent agreement. I guess his son being born as an American changed his view.
