I don’t see how they do it without Wiggins.

Which was likely the deal breaker
Not just Wiggins.

CP3 option would have needed to be guaranteed.

Am I the only one who remembers how shit ended with him and Harden?

You think the Clippers were just going to eat that 30 mil and cut him for him to walk across the hall to the Lakers?

What other shoe?

At first I thought you were just having a general discussion on not taking your foot off the peddle just because you got a Dude signed.

I agree.

He could become disgruntled if the Knicks, Celtics, 7ers continually snuff his team.

But, this post kinda sounds like you are actually predicting him wanting out.

I don’t want to put words in your mouth.

But that’s how it looks.
and to be fair Philly did not get further than us nor did the Knicks (sure, beat us a couple years ago with different team)....yes, the Cs beat us but he missed the last 2 games.

That being said….get something for him

Is it really worth getting no picks to let him stroll to the East vs be a 4/5 seed in golden state?
PG was going to make the Warriors that good in a stacked WC?

The guy played over 70 games for the first time since 2018-19....in basically a contract year since he declined his option.

Don't be surprised if he is back to playing 50-ish games next season.

I’m talking about this Season and going forward.

All of those teams SHOULD be better than the Cavs, health permitting.

They offered Wiggins, CP3 and a 2027 first rounder.

Clippers wisely said fuck all the way off.

Clippers haven’t been out of the tax for almost a decade.

Clearly they preferred this over compounding the mistake they made in the first PG trade.

Sometimes it’s best to just cut your loses.

They aren’t losing any sleep about not helping the Dubs continue to stack chips.
Yep. It wasn't just the underwhelming package but that tax played a huge part. So yes, maybe Wiggins was included but he isn't an expiring contract and what is his trade value at this point? Not great I would assume. I think you hit on the main point, money.

I think Hunter can be had because of his injury history.

Bridges has other admirers.

But I’d like both for the Cavs, DFS too.
Guessing you're right others would want Bridges but wonder how much money is left out there for him (too lazy to look). I don't like DFS as much as some but he'd be better than nothing for sure.

Sure but it's still funny they gave Dray all they did but didn't want to give Klay more years.

Klay most likely has more left in the tank than Dray. In a few years that Dray contract may look really bad.
In a few years that Dray contract will be over you goofball

No.

It’s really worth getting no picks to not have the pleasure of paying fubar Kobe for the next few years.

I’m not sure why you keep ignoring the fact that they would still be a apron team just to get a pick in the 20’s.

Believe something like Paul looney and Payton would get you close enough (maybe need a 3rd team since neither can take on salary) but close enough to work

If they turned that and a first down, that would be a mistake Imo

My guess is they didn’t because I think he’s a dub if that was on the table

Bridges would be a sign and trade if he goes anywhere sans Orlando.

If they have already extended their guys, maybe not there either.

If it’s sign and trade, there will be several bidders.

to be clear assuming by THIS season you mean the 2024-25 season, correct? If so, then my mistake.

Yeah, would think those teams could be better but a lot will depend on health as you said and of course what else the Cavs (or they) might do.

A lot of discussion about players who are old and getting older, at the end of their careers and/or are close, and who are signing big contracts that appear to be overpaying to a degree.

So…

Pay Looney and Payton and stay in the tax for a late 1st rounder?

Christ…lol

You don’t embarass yourself on the court

And again, the clips have almost no picks anyway

They’re in a Tough spot

Is a S and T a lock? First, not sure who has much more than the MLE to offer and if signing for MLE why would teams who have it available trade for him instead of just signing?

I say this understanding he might want more than MLE and maybe even a lot more so, yeah, could be a bidding war for him.

The dubs in 2027…is a long ways away

Could easily be similar to the pick they lost this year

Everyone thought the pick to dump iggy (which was stupid) was gonna be late first but it turned into a lotto pick

Clearly, they preferred this path to putting more hot sauce on a less shitty sammich.

Sometimes….

It’s best to just fold em.

That pick in the 20’s wouldn’t change there fortunes.

They are going to have to live with the outcome of their upcoming pick swaps and hopefully recoup assets when/if they trade Kawhi.

Here's the problem I have with the Warriors. They should have at least gone back to Klay and upped the figure after you saw that he was willing to walk. The only reason Draymond got that deal was because he got it from someone else. The Warriors then matched and the deal was done. Originally the Warriors offered less years and less money.

Klay just balked at the original offer and was like screw that, come back to me with something better. And the Warriors never did.
I think it's clear the Warriors simply did not want Klay back at the cost it would take to keep him. They are betting that they can make the team better without him. Might be right too, it's really only sentimental value to keep him around. Good time for both sides to part ways, Klay is on a new contender and getting 'valued' and the Ws don't have to pay a guy some people describe as 'broken'
