Questions begin to seep in concerning the cost of getting Klay. The best scenario is for the Lakers to get Klay to accept the MLE. If Klay doesn't then the Lakers are going to have to go the S&T route to afford Klay which would start to eat into the young talent they already have and this is where Klay's age and increasing injury history begins to cause concern.

I thought I saw a Tweet in the last 24-32 hours or so hours he was walking as an UFA.

That's why the Q and Shopson's discussion on a sign and trade threw me off.

The numbers show they were absolutely different yes, nothing has changed that. They had a historic shooting season that didn’t end up being quite good enough. Of course the thunders chances were small, and they are going to continue to be small. Just how things are.
Nah.

I think as long as you are healthy, you are coming out of the West.

That success, and failure, was a necessary part of the process.

Minny looks to be losing Anderson…

Denver lost KCP…

It’s Dallas and OKC at the top of the West food chain for me, as presently constructed.

He also is not rushing a decision either. Looks like he is being pretty patient to see what both teams do.
On maybe a smaller scale, there is also the contribution of the opinion and support of Klay's father Mychal to come to the Lakers. Alot to process, but I am sure Klay will do what is best for Klay and his family and friends.

He might be.

Still weird and spiteful considering it is about half of what the Dubs are offering.

Trying to give both time to shed payroll to get a better salary.

Aggregating salaries would hard cap the team at the first apron, but using the the MLE already did that, so no penalty as long as they can fit everything under that first apron.

Second apron I believe

Well everyone has until July 6 to work-out their deals. July 6 is when the official signing of the contracts begins.

Isn't tax broken up by game location anyway, so it's not as big of an influence as it might seem?

Yes, which is why I've never really put much stock into the "tax" argument. They only pay California tax on games played in California.

On paper I guess, but my thing is no matter how well a small market team is constructed there are always going to be people conspiring to throw something together at the last minute to beat them. In the end it makes it that much sweeter if you can make it happen, but winning a championship is just damn hard. The next 5 years are going to be fun for the Thunder, just hope they can stay healthy and get one.

Your Coach is sharp.

You have depth.

You have 3 legit cornerstones.

I like your chances.

I really do think Daigneault is the smartest guy in most rooms. That is part of what gives them a real chance.

More teams need to take a chance on a fresh hire.

I’m tired of all these retread hires.

Doc Rivers should be taken round back and put down.

Pop, Spo….if you squint Lue, should be the only survivors of the old head hires.
