They don’t.

They are trying to use a trade exception.

I don't think that works, unless the trade exception is part of their salary numbers, due to being hard-capped at the first apron. Plus, that's only $16M, is that enough to get Thompson? Trade exceptions can't be added to players in a trade, right?

Can both teams do a sign and trade? I thought you get hard capped in a trade when you are over the salary cap? Again, not a salary cap guru.

I thought we were assuming Klay was gonna be in for the MLE with Dallas and LA. And that is why the Lakers are trying to salary dump some guys to offer Klay the MLE.

Aso, in Vegas with distractions and the Starbucks coffee didn't have its usual juice.

Both teams are in similar situations, can do a S&T since they are currently under the 1st apron, but doing so will hard cap them at the first apron.

You need to drink early and often while there

If Dallas gets Klay they are over OKC.
I still like Minny.
If LA doesn't get Klay I am not sure what they can do to get better than any of those teams.

A clear top 3: Minny, Dallas (w/ Klay) and OKC

I disagree.

I think Dallas benefitted from OKC being inexperienced in the playoffs.

Adding Caruso and Hartenstein along with last season’s experience makes OKC the clear favorite in the West.

Dallas was not better than OKC last year. They won because they were more experienced.

Adding Klay will give them championship experience so it really only goes against your point. Also, give them one of the most clutch shooters of all-time.

I honestly hope wherever Klay goes he gets a bag. Because if he leaves to take LESS money than the Warriors offered, I'm gonna be honest that's gonna sting a bit to me.

It seems like it's just a situation where Klay can't deal with having a different role on the team he helped build, but damn.

Eh.

The Thunder got some valuable playoff experience last year.

Everyone except @thunderc knew they would fold against a veteran team because most had never been there before.

I don’t think we can count on Jalen Williams having several mid games in the same series again.

Yup you examine that series closely you see that the Thunder were a split second away from getting that series back home for a game 7. It was a dead even series.

You can’t aggregate but you can send out salary to create the room to make them fit

Do the Clippers have their 2025 1st rounder?

If Leonard plays 40 or so games with Harden back to jacking up 20-25 shots a game....they could be a lottery team in the 10-14 range?

They won't be bad, bad but could be in the 10-14 draft range?

They don’t control their pick (including swaps) until 2030

You really think they folded? You are better than that. Dallas was damn lucky to get out of that series, to the extent that Irving is still saying so.
