Mavs - more money and a championship roster. More experienced HC. Luka and Kyrie
Lakers - less money and championship roster. Bron and AD

I think the difference is about $4-5M...

State tax probably too will play a factor.

But so will LA lifestyle.

Rob needs to hold the line on Portland.

Offer them matching salary and a few 2nd rounders. No way Grant is worth 2 1st rounders. I don't even think he is worth 1 1st rounder.

There doesn't seem to be any competition for Grant.

Not really, all comes down to how much each team is willing to give via S&T (and which package the Warriors like more). If it's MLE, it's LA since Dallas already used part of theirs on Marshall
Mavs have a $17M trade exception and the Lakers would probably lose more in a trade. Makes a difference

Philly still has 10 mil.

Plus, they can do a sign and trade.

I wonder who is going to go get Bruce Brown?

Sixers are $20M over the cap with the Maxey extension and would be right at the cap even with Maxey's cap hold. They would need to waive Reed and Council's non-guaranteed money to get to $10M I believe?

In the WC championship roster will be changing on a year to year basis. OKC looks like the faves in the WC right now.

They could get another almost 8 mill if they traded Reed for cap relief and a couple 2nd rounders but they could play him at PF for 20mpg or so.
Reed's contract is non-guaranteed, no need.

Lakers have the full MLE available via Lebron taking less money. Dallas used part of their MLE on Marshall. Dallas is talking S&T.
Being said they are in a war for who can pay Thompson the most and that he is going to get paid.

If Dallas gets Klay they are over OKC.
I still like Minny.
If LA doesn't get Klay I am not sure what they can do to get better than any of those teams.

A clear top 3: Minny, Dallas (w/ Klay) and OKC

Using the more than the TPMLE portion of their MLE on Marshall hard caps them at the first apron. They are only about $4M under than apron right now. That exception doesn't seem like it impacts much? A S&T for $20-25M is still going to require two salaries from Dallas since they can't exceed that apron.
