I've having problems with NBA free agent inflation.

Seems like the whole league is going to be 2nd apron sooner than later.

I know that isnt the case but it sure feels like it from some of these contracts.

They didn't have the resources to get Markkanen. Ainge is going to want to see a deal that at least equals the Mihkal Bridges deal.

There were no perfect options. But getting someone like Paul George without having to give up any assets is a pretty easy decision.

Paul George
Andre Drummond
Eric Gordon
Resigned Kelly Oubre

Pretty satisfied with this.
I hear you.

The key word is 'satisfied'.

I’m just so excited to see what Shai, Jdub and Chet look like in 2 years. I think it’s pretty scary to say the least.
Caruso a free agent after next season.

He may take less to stay there if he likes the direction they are headed.

It’s already a given he will sign a new $20 M a year deal the second he can in December.

KAT and Gobert make a combined 93 mill next season. And the cap is 140 mil.

Oh ok.

Do it before those other guys get paid then.
Pretty sure that’s the plan, both sides have already mentioned it.

I know. And my Wolves are stuck because of it.

Seems like the rest of the league is trying to get just as stuck as we are.

Aggregated quote.

I actually watched the podcast.

He said the Mavs are in the lead because of the Hardaway move.

He said the Lakers are trying.

But they have to get Dlo off the books to be in the mix.

Hardaway trade gave them a $16M TPE. However, by signing Marshall (to what I assume is part of their big MLE), aren't they hard-capped at the 1st apron? They currently are less than $4M under the 1st apron, so I think they need to move actual salaries to get Thompson in under that first apron hard cap. Does Golden State want Green and Kleber? Does Dallas want to give up draft capital (all they have available are 2025 and 2028 2nds from what I can tell)?

It’s only a problem if you don’t win.

Yep, Mavs can pay him more
Not really, all comes down to how much each team is willing to give via S&T (and which package the Warriors like more). If it's MLE, it's LA since Dallas already used part of theirs on Marshall

Mavs - more money and a championship roster. More experienced HC. Luka and Kyrie
Lakers - less money and championship roster. Bron and AD

I think the difference is about $4-5M...
