I get it, OKC needed a rebounder but still a pretty big overpay for a role player. $30M per year is crazy
Claxton got $25 for 4 years. It’s not that big of an overpay, Hartenstein can make a free throw, he’s more than a rebounder.

Bidding war.

Luckily, it’s only a 3 year deal.

They had to spend the money somewhere.
With the changes in the cba it was imperative that they spent the money prior to having 3 max contracts.

Crazy a bidding war. $30M for a role player. I said from the beginning, OKC is the only team that can afford an overpay but just crazy role players making that much now

Well of course I don’t, I really still don’t think they did. This deal looks a lot different had they not done the Joe and Wiggins deals simultaneously.

When you have to spend 90 or 95 percent of the cap it’s going to happen.

Rob needs to hold the line on Portland.

Offer them matching salary and a few 2nd rounders. No way Grant is worth 2 1st rounders. I don't even think he is worth 1 1st rounder.

Didn’t they also give Steven Adam’s the bag a few years back?

They did what they had to do to get their guy.

Yep, Mavs can pay him more
Mavs are better fit and a better team. If he wants to show GSW that he’s still got it and possibly win more rings, he would pick the mavs. If he wants to hang out in cali, chill with lebron, and play for his dads old team he will choose the lakers.

the lakers aren’t winning shit with or without klay tho.

Not a salary cap expert.

The Lakers and Mavs are both over the cap.....are we taking clear salary just to offer the full MLE?
