I think his biggest issue would be his defense trying to handle really athletic wings.

I think in the modern game he never stops being a 4. Limited defense for sure, but probably plays more as a help defender that plays the passing lanes while the Center defends the middle.

He was hitting 40% from 3 before the shot was popular. All his game and add him upping his 3pa to 8? Assists, rebounds, steals all translate. He probably no longer averages a block a game. I think Bird still gets at least 1 MVP in the modern game.
