if the sixers are willing to eat Lonzo, i think that makes a lot of sense.
That’s the kind of thing it will take to bring back a fit with the group of Embiid Harden Maxey. Here’s my latest pipe dream. If Hawks really want to get better, they can use John Collins as a trade piece and they can do this to clear out 4 years of Hunter and Boggy.

I was going to say the hawks are a team to talk to if you’re willing to take a guy.

Is bog trade eligible? I forget when he signed his extension

Looked up the date. It’s March 16, 2023. Not sure of the rules. Need your help on that.

I thought it was 6 months

Looks like it is 6 months
So they couldn’t do this until like the evening before training camp.

Boggy is a solid bench piece and Hunter fits the 3 and D guy I’m looking for. Kinda. He’s a career 35% guy with a high mark of 38%. I can live with that as long as he’s willing to take 5-6 a game. His defense will be sorely needed though.

Yeah, I really don’t think this makes Boston better.
I disagree, slightly.

Boston had an unbalanced roster... guard heavy. This move helps balance things out.

There is also the added/improved draft capital to factor in.

The big risk is the potential for injuries to torpedo the C's chances of a title. But aside from that, this move is a net positive.

The value is good.

What they do with future moves will determine if the net is positive.

The current roster relies pretty heavily on guys like Brogdon and Zinger to play big roles, and they aren’t very reliable in terms of health.

Moving Robert Williams and the picks for another versatile guard/wing should be next

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you say ^here^... health/injuries is a big risk with this Celtics roster.

RWIII or Grant Williams?

RWIII isn't going anywhere.

I think they’re better for sure. Porzingas will score 20 PPG and give them a solid pick and roll defender and rim protection. Horford had nothing left come playoff time. This also keeps his minutes down with Porzingas and RWIII in the rotation.

Horford should be easily moveable at his new reduced salary though.
Perhaps... I don't think the Celtics are inclined to move him, though.

Horford can be a valuable role player on a championship roster... and the C's have eyes on a championship.
