Even it changes, all players would do is sign shorter contracts for the max if they have doubts about the organization. Instead of a 5 yr deal, let me sign a 2 yr deal or a 3 yr deal with a player option after year 2. Good luck thinking any top player will sign a 4 or 5 yr max if they add some silly rule to prevent players from demanded trades after signing a max deal
He’s too much of a pussy to even want to. It’s simple, the spirit of the supermax has gone away, completely. There is really nothing Silver can do about it.
Some might, but then they at least have to think about injuries, which the team takes the full brunt of if they can’t fulfill their contract. In any event, that is a much fairer situation.Even it changes, all players would do is sign shorter contracts for the max if they have doubts about the organization. I dont know how/ why you guys are still discussing Dame lol. I gave up on that talk since last week
He signed the extension July 22, 2022....LOL.They are already locked in for one season as it stands today for supermax contracts.
Not if they add a rule about not requesting trades. Maybe the guys on the consistent franchises and/or big markets (Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Warriors, Sixers, and etc)Injuries are very much a thing, so more will lock in the biggest number possible that you may think.
He signed the extension July 22, 2022....LOL.
I get that but there's not much new on the Dame front either lol. Basically nothing changed so it is basically a stale debate right now until new info is knownWhat else is there, other than Summer League? Harden's trade has dried up even more than Dame's.
Yep and Brandon Clark season ending injury as wellHe wasn't the only one missing during those 36 games though. Didn't that match up with Ja's "suspension" as well?
I say this happens a lot less than one might think. Right now it’s turned into a best of both worlds kind of thing. Generally not sustainable. Not if they add a rule about not requesting trades. Maybe the guys on the consistent franchises and/or big markets (Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Warriors, Sixers, and etc)
A player on a team like Portland or Charlotte may say fuck it. 2 yr deal and sign a longer deal with a better franchise
After Portland failed to do what they told him...and the GM said give them some more time. So, as soon as the league year began, trade request.

I keep forgetting about Clark, lol.Yep and Brandon Clark season ending injury as well
This is the most overblown part of this whole deal. Lillard is signing that extension no matter what. After Portland failed to do what they told him...and the GM said give them some more time.
So we shouldn't talk about it because you said so?I get that but there's not much new on the Dame front either lol. Basically nothing changed so it is basically a stale debate right now until new info is known
He signed it last year....I am talking about what happened recently. This is the most overblown part of this whole deal. Lillard is signing that extension no matter what.
