When I develop the Vah-Poo-Rizer and become a millionaire.
You aren't a millionaire yet?

I thought we were all handsome (beautiful in Mecca's case) and independently wealthy....why we have so much time to spend on here...

Part of Miami’s problem with pulling off this trade is their own strength as a franchise. They are known for their culture and getting the most out of their players. Well most people are looking at Herro’s stats and envisioning a dip if he leaves Miami. And if his number dip just a little, he just becomes another Jordan Poole.

I just can’t imagine a scenario where Miami is able to pull off this trade….
…..unless the name Bam starts getting brought up.

Someone else is going to trump an offer that only involves picks that don’t come into play for 4 seasons and whatever Herro and Duncan can be spun off for. There needs to be some immediate impact. This trade isn’t about what is best for Portland long term. It is about what gets Portland to the playoffs not this coming season but the following season. Because if Portland isn’t in the playoffs in the next 2 years, the GM who is tasked with making this trade gets shit canned from his dream job.

If they are trading Dame they aren't looking at playoffs anytime soon....

This.

That roster is super too heavy.

This will be a long rebuild

And I love their starting core of scoot/sharpe and think nas can be a key player on a contender,
Especially on that contract

But you are right that there’s a real risk that he doesn’t get to use those picks, especially when next years draft seems to be too heavy at pg….which you got covered

They need to add some size on the wing long term

They need to get jovic out of Miami in this deal as well

Ideally, it’s trade Harden now for value and let Harris walk after this year but if value can’t be had for Harden that becomes the next best thing. I’m just very glad that Morey was disciplined and didn’t extend Harden beyond this year.
Don’t worry, Harden will ball out for half the season and Harden will pull it out in the locker room and there goes Morey to his knees. Big money shot

I think they definitely need to add. They’ve lost Shake Milton, Georges Niang and Jaden McDaniels. Niang was in the playoff rotation. Their playoff rotation with this roster would look like this if no changes.
Harden
Maxey Melton (either guard)
Harris House (Harris can play 3 or 4)
Tucker
Embiid BBall Paul (BBall Paul can play 4 or 5)

They still need a solid 3 and D wing that can be in the playoff rotation. Springer is a question mark I’d like to see play himself into a role. Furkan Korkmaz is dead weight.
Maybe they can hope Oubre accepts less but that's a pipeline dream.
Terrence Ross-wouldn't call him 3 and D but decent rotational player if nothing else
Guys like Barton and Warren seem like back end rotational players at best.
Not much out there.

If Harden and Embiid can work and actually close on an ECF or dare I say a championship, I have no problem giving Harden a bag going forward. I like the optionality though of all in for this year. If they fail, Harris is off the books. Harden is off the books. They can still likely get a haul for Embiid and they tear it down and start over with Maxey.

I agree. The Sixers would have to get creative. They may not have the luxury of using the Harris situation as expiring money next off season. They may have to deal him now to get 2 or 3 players for 1 big salary. The only real reach in their playoff 8 right now is House. Maybe he fits the Nurse scheme and style better than he did Doc’s. I’m fine with the starters and BBall Paul and Melton being in the playoff rotation. I don’t like a playoff rotation that goes deeper than 8. I want my 3 subs to have positional flexibility. Melton can play 1,2 or even 3 in a 3 guard group. BBall Paul can play the 4 or 5. Harris can play the 3 or 4. Like you said though…that guy who could be in a playoff rotation is likely not out there at this point.

I think Harris is staying so that means they will lack in depth as of right now. I think they value Harris higher than the market values him so no point in trading him

The only way they get a title and I will preface this with it's unlikely to happen...

1-Embiid continues to dominate. Likely.

2-Maxey elevates to the #2 option. Possible.

3-Harris becomes a nice #3 option. Possible.

4-Trickiest part. Harden tries to imitate prime CP....selfless passer....and willingly the #4 option on offense....UNLIKELY....LOL

But, if it all happened and Nurse coaching? Title.

Actually, dominating in the playoffs after round 1 would be a new development for Embiid. He settles far too often. You correctly made this number one. If the Sixers win a title it will be because their best player turns his regular season dominance into playoff dominance. Hasn’t happened yet.
2-Maxey elevates to the #2 option. Possible.
I think he needs to develop as a playmaker and as a defender to take his game next level. He is arguably already their 2nd best scoring option.
3-Harris becomes a nice #3 option. Possible.
On this team, Harris is definitely the 4th option. Where I need Harris to step up is when he plays with the bench. He needs to tap into Clippers or Pistons Tobias when he was the number one option on a mid kind of team. He needs to be more assertive getting to his spots. That’s even more important now because the Sixers lack a bench guy who can be counted on to score regularly. If he adds this to the adaptation he’s already made with the starters, I’ll be very pleased.
4-Trickiest part. Harden tries to imitate prime CP....selfless passer....and willingly the #4 option on offense....UNLIKELY....LOL
Bro, he’s already there. Embiid has never gotten better looks than he has playing with Harden. Harden has absolutely taken on a secondary role in getting guys shots. He has more in his bag than CP3 right now but he already made this adjustment.
But, if it all happened and Nurse coaching? Title.
This is the big variable. I don’t know what Nurse will employ with this group but I’m excited based on two things. His reputation for defense which the Sixers need come playoff time as well as his ability to adjust in series. These are areas of weakness for Doc.

This is gonna get more and more interesting....and a really messy divorce between Dame and Portland. He was posting really cryptic stuff about things coming to light and all.
He did?

Where lol
