Maxey is a good young player.

But damn.

He is not ever going to be a top dog on a title contender. Philly’s window is today.

Dame is their best chance to get a ring with Embiid.

They should do a deal.
The same with Bam....

If Portland wanted him as the centerpiece....Miami should do it. He is a good player but shouldn't be a deterrent to getting Dame.

Lol no they shouldn't. The heat are a different team without Bam & also on the Dame side of things, they are not a title contender without Bam even with Dame.

On top of that, Bam is one of the biggest reasons he want to come here as he & Bam are extremely close

This is the Stafford gamble, Rams put everything on the line betting he was the last piece, they got the ring and then immediately disintegrated as a team. If Jaquiski Tartt makes that pick that goes down as an all time terrible trade instead of a clear win. If Heat are going to give up a 25 year old 4 time All-Defense team player for a brief championship window you better not miss.

They will never trade Bam anytime soon if ever. They truly believe is a Heat lifer. Thing with Bam is you actually have to watch the games to understand his impact. Looking at his stats doesn't do him justice

I think in the finals he was the Heats best player on the court, and still 3ish years from a players usual prime. No doubt in my mind that Dame is the better player today, but He is nearing the age of PG decline and Bam is still on the way up. Unless I am SUPER confident that the addition of Dame at the cost of Bam leads to a ring, no way in hell do I do it.

If Joel Embiid hits the market next summer, Heat don’t think twice about including Bam in a deal to make that happen.

Yeah one of the few because the position he plays. Trading Bam for a guard just wont happen. It would need to be a 2 way Center such as Embiid

Many reasons. The skills Embiid brings overlap what Bam does while also adding another dimension. Embiid is 4 years younger, and Embiids peak is higher than anything Dame ever reached.

Nobody else cares but I do. I was talking Sixers playoff rotation earlier and totally left out Pat Bev in that calculus. Their playoff rotation of 8/9 is likely all set considering they really don’t have moves to make if they can’t get requisite value for Harden or Harris.

This.

That roster is super too heavy.

This will be a long rebuild

And I love their starting core of scoot/sharpe and think nas can be a key player on a contender,
Especially on that contract

That is why Portland is going to be asking for more than draft picks and future assets. A long rebuild gets the current GM fired. He would be signing his own death certificate if that is all he takes back in the Dame trade. He needs to look at Simmons and Scoot and think they are going to be winning basketball players sooner rather than later and try and build a roster around them that helps make that happen.

People always forget that almost no GM actually makes a move based on the long term health of the organization. They makes moves that help them win enough games soon enough so that they are able to keep their jobs. And that is why Portland is almost assuredly going to be looking for some immediate impact in a trade package for Dame. If they don't get anything that helps them in the next 2 years, the GM can kiss his dream job he has been working his entire life for goodbye.

If Cronin made moves to win now Dame would not be seeking an exit.

Yep. Not him because he’s cooked now. Cavs sorely needed that kind of guy and he couldn’t get playoff minutes with them. That’s telling for where he is now. That 3 and D wing is the missing piece.

It’s the missing piece if I continue the delusion that one day Embiid/Harden will be playoff risers and not playoff failure guys. Just being real, Sixers off season move discussion is really just moving around deck seats on the Titanic. It doesn’t matter. The ship is going down and we’re all going to be dead.

Lucky for Miami, Dame only wants to go to Miami and other teams won't want to risk giving up assets for a disgruntled superstar.

It's just about finding a 3rd or even 4th team at this point.

The solution is obviously Gobert and or KAT. 6ers need them both!

I think we need some collusion up in here and have 28 GMs refuse to facilitate just to fuck with @bksballer89

They can add Nurkic and Freedom Kanter and go with the all Center lineup. Nobody will see it coming.
