Got to give it to the Lions. Probably took both players earlier than they were expected to go , but they got two really good players.

This makes me feel a lot better. It looked to me when we were on the clock that we looked deflated after the Buffalo pick and got caught with our pants down without a player we liked and immediately got on the phone to try and bail ourselves out. Put if this is true, and I'm sure it is, it is other teams that reached out to us and we told them no and took our guy

I'll never complain about a fat guy in round 1. We've desperately needed one forever and those are the types of guys you can potentially plug in for a decade.

Now after seeing what the Eagles are doing we desperately need to bolster the oline (we did anyway).

He said Mazi is great at that, but that DQ would have him pushing the pocket as well. Kid is 6'3", 337, 550 bench and a 44" vertical(wow). Just a freak

Yep. That's why I don't sweat this pick. I thought Joey Porter Jr was a no brainer there, but McClay has proven enough to me that I just say Heck yeah, we got a stud. The days of Jerry drafting Sherman Williams or trading two #1's for Roy Williams are long gone

Jerry just can't STFU. He outright asks McClay where Mazi was ranked. McClay gives the politically correct response of "he was on the board and in a position for us to pick at 26" and Jerry comes back immediately with "he was 14". He just can't help himself. That serves no purpose other than him trying to cut off any criticism about us not taking the BPA when we were on the clock. He is just too sensitive to what is said around him like when he showed our draft board last year because the pick was questioned.
