dont we need to get thru FAgency before we worry about the draft plus we have 2 TEs so doubt we draft another early
Dont we need a CB or Safety?:suds:

We always need the next great Patriot CB and Safety. CB would be my first choice in the draft if the desired OT is not there.

At 14 there will be at least one of the top if not the #1 projected OTs, TE, CB or S.

Just a matter of what BB feels we need. This year I prefer we stay at 14 and take any one of them. I think the talent is too good to pass on.

As someone mentioned it depends on what BB does in FA. If we lock up any of those positions then no need to draft that position at 14. Get a back up in the later rounds.

Yes, but we can't we talk about draft potential too? Most feel Smith will be cut. Yes we need a CB. Safety, OT. If we can land any of those it will affect our draft.

I suspect any top 15 OTs will be gone. If I am BB I would attempt to address at least one OT in FA

smith is a 19 mil dead cap hit doubt he goes anywhere:suds:
He has not produced if something can be swung I suspect the Pats will try. If not you're very likely correct we may be stuck with him. Maybe, hopefully a legit OC will be able to better utilize his skill sets?

Free Agents I would like to see targeted that I think we have cap space to lure in.

RT: George Fant NYJ or Mike McGlinchey SF. RT was a saloon door all year long.

OG: Roger Safford Buff, on the right side of the line.

I would also like to see us draft a LT and C

Safety: Jessie Bates III Cinn. DMac if not done is close to done. Grabbing a safety allows frees up a need and allows to draft a CB.

Do you think Patricia had any idea at all about utilizing TEs?

It doesn't appear that he had any understanding of the offense when he took over and was reading books about it all year.

No I do not, our TE situation was horrid this year because Matt was clueless.

RT is good choice.

I would guess that BB thinks Strange and Owenue ar his starting guards.

Question? If T. Brown stayed, would you put him at LT or RT? If you could sign Fant, would you keep T. Brown at LT or look for someone else? Would you like to see BB offer Orlando Brown a huge contract? He an All-Pro, 26 years old and Andy Reid can't Franchise him again.

Wouldn't be in the best interest of this team to secure a more than solid OL for now and the future and utilize that available money to do it? Even if BB spent $50M to place the bookends, He'll have $20M (Just picked up a gift of $4M from the league for unused money in 2022) remaining to grab a WR (Landry?) and a piece for the secondary. Then again there's all of the talk that DeAndre Hopkins and BB are admirers of each other and he wants to play in NE.

You're on the right track Reb. Is anyone listening?

I would like to see Fant or McGlinchey at RT keep Brown as potential LT but draft a LT and C.

If we can secure Bates III at safety with Duggar I feel Ok. But draft a CB high.

As for WR it seems the achiulles heel of BB but the FA market is not great for WR and no one is sure what is up with Hopkins I suspect we draft one or two in a very deep WR class

When outstanding underclassmen declare and are available, it can really make the draft a total mystery from pick to pick.

The Stanford QB, a junior has declared. He's 6'6" and might be someone who just needs a bit of real coaching to become a top ten. He's not afraid to take off and run. I can't remember his name. He's not my guy in Round 1 thru 4, but I'd grab him if he was still sitting home in the 5th.
Google shows two Juniors as QB's at Stanford.
Beau Nelson and Tanner McKee.

Last year(?) there was a Div. III lineman that set the Combine on fire. I know he got drafted about the third round. Anyone remember him? What happened to him? Did he make it out on the roster or PS? How soon we forget......................

I thought he would be cut. Appears obvious now that we cannot cut him. A trade would require a new contract too.
I suspecct that we try to rewrite his contract. He is only 27 and was previously a good TE.
He also battled nagging injuries this year. These type of injuries are harder on big, tall players.
Our game plan for him was yards after catch. That can put a target on your back!

He played for Josh too and was just as useless. Perhaps we get lucky and find an OC that can lure him into productivity but he's 0 for 2 with OC's in NE so far.

I saw him as part of an underclassmen article and wondered if he might be a good back up. If Mac doesn't work out by the end of his first four years, it's a good plan to have a someone ready to step forward. He's not going in the first round and I think if he's floating around in the 4th he might be a good project pick up. He sure ain't a midget.
