Just a few times, but it really, really hurt.
STs may not win you a lot of games, but they certainly can lose games.
Love BBs picks to try and fix this problem. K/P/KR lots of speed.

STs the unforgotten 3rd phase of the game until they cost you.

Yep. Pats used to play all the phases, and play the 60 minutes. Need to go back the some of that.

I am actually fairly impressed (compared to other years) with this draft. Now let's hope everyone starts off the season healthy.

Special Teams F'd the Patriots a few times last year so that had to be addressed and it was.

How'd the tournament go?
Wow...

First game our girls won 8-2.
Second game was a close, hard fought loss at 4-5.
Third was another win at 8-1 against a rough opponent.
The fourth game to win the tournament was a very, very strange loss at 1-3.

I hate it when refs influence the outcome and I also hate blaming the refs.
Soccer is not hockey. Yes, it is supposed to be a physical game with contact, it is not supposed to be "A Contact Sport". Elbows to the back of the head, late hits when the ball has already been kicked, full body hits with no attempt to play the ball etc, etc...
Game three was against an opponent that did all of that and more. Our girls beat them bad and played clean. There should have been a number of players yellow carded and a couple plays that deserved red card. Our striker dribbled past the defender and was almost to the goalie on a sure thing goal scoring opportunity when the defender from the opposite side came across the field, she was FAST, and gave her a two hand shove in the back at full speed. Sent our flying out of bounds and down. Should have been a red card because of the play.. Should have been a Penalty Kick because it happened in the box and denied a scoring opportunity.
Nope. Goal kick...meaning the goalie gets the ball to kick back upfield.
OK...Still beat them bad.

Fourth game. Complete opposite. That ref had a whole deck of yellow cards and he was playing fucking canasta with them. There was more color on that field then a glitter bomb.
One of our girls, on a throw in threw her leg up to trap the ball in front of the opposite team striker. Yellow card. Why? Ref said because you wanted her to hit your leg and draw a foul, that's a yellow card. What? Going for the ball gets a card???

But then, the ref put us down as the official winner 3-1.

So...Girls get medals for winning the tournament championship even though they didn't, but should have.

Patriots selected Georgia Tech EDGE Keion White with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

A five-year collegiate player who played tight end as a freshman for Old Dominion, White (6’5/285) transitioned to D as a sophomore and thrived. He recorded a 31.3% pass rush win rate with a superb 90.4 PFF pass rush grade in 2019, both top-15 marks nationally, before jumping over to Georgia Tech to compete in the P5. Though White only logged 72 reps for the previous two years, he returned to top form with 54 tackles, 14 TFL, and 7.5 sacks (5th in ACC). His basketball background shows up in his agility and balance, as White has an unnatural fluidity for a 285-pounder. In addition to his super-heavyweight Edge measurements, the former two-star recruit has premium flexibility for a man his size, explodes into contact and works like a berserker to get off blocks. He backed up the tape by dropping a 98th percentile 4.79s 40-yard dash and a scorching 9.92 RAS that left the Yellowjackets' defensive leader with few peers in terms of raw, untapped potential.
Wife is an ODU grad. She'll like this.

WTF Bill? A LB?

I'm starting to think there actually is some problems in Foxboro.

Maybe BB really wanted to get rid of Mac and Kraft said no. BB I'll show you by going D,D,D.

Help pad Stevies stats and make him look better.

I've always been a BB supporter but this is pissing me off.
Or, Bill just knows that Mac doesn't have what it takes to win a shootout with the like of KC, Buffalo or Cinci and figure the better way is to stop them from scoring.

Well that sounds like you wanted to rush the field and knock out the official! Did anyone get hurt?

Jake Andrews - center. This was a surprise of sorts.
We have been talking about David Andrews getting older and smallish.
Jake can learn under David.

"12 games as a backup at all three interior line positions in 2019. Andrews stepped into the starting lineup for all 11 games in 2020 and all 12 contests in 2021. He moved to center for his senior season, excelling to the point where Sun Belt coaches voted him first-team all-conference for his play in 14 starts."
"Wrestled and won the state championship as a senior"

"Wrestling background shows up on tape with how well he negotiates leverage throughout the block."

Note that he switched to center as a senior and flew under the radar of pundits.
Was Matt Light a wrestler?

Yes.
Game three. A knee on one of our girls, not sure the extent. A broken arm on one of our girls. LOTS of bruises and cleat gouges.
Game four. A concussion one of theirs. LOTS of bruises and cleat gouges.

The defense while good last year was not all that great and getting our offense those one or two extras possesion a great defense can get an offense. If Gonzalez is what we expect he will provide that extra second it takes to get to a QB. Again we got faster on D and we need that.

Special Teams let the Patriots down as well. Let's just hop the D is well but the offense should be better this season

Defense in 2022 had 55 sacks. First time BB has ever had a defense with more than 50 sacks.

White and Mapu as well.

I'm actually excited.

The LSU receiver at the end has been touted as the steal of the draft as well.

I only remember one game, the Buffalo game where the STs were atrocious. But we still needed a K and P regardless, didn't BB release our punter prior to the draft?
