No, not exactly....

But, that Celtics team was a lot better than Denver is.

Yes they were.

And the Showtime Lakers were much, much better than this year’s Miami Heat.

So what is your point?

Every year, every series.

Some people never learn.

I think it will be short too, but I thought that before game 1.

On paper Denver is better from top to bottom and a lot deeper. It also showed on the court.

Could the heat pull it off? Possibly, but i wouldn't bet on it.

Jamal Murry kinda reminds me of Kobe too

I still remember being in a sports bar watching the Showtime Lakers lose game 1 of the '85 finals to Birds Celtics 148-114 in the Memorial Day Massacre in the old Boston Garden. My friend who was a Celtics fan was talking about a sweep.

The Lakers won the series 4-2.

Okay? This isnt that.

And you know this how?

Point is, things can change quickly in a series, especially in the finals.

If the Heat win game 2, everything changes. Even if the Nuggets win game 2, all they've done is what they're supposed to do and protect their home court. If the Heat do the same in games 3 and 4, it becomes a 3 game series.

Not saying that will happen, but the Nuggets aren't some juggernaut. They have flaws that can be exploited. Miami has an HOF level coach to figure out how to do that.

They aren't nearly as effective when Joker is off the court. I'd expect that the Heat will be more aggressive attacking the paint looking to get to the free throw line and maybe get Joker into foul trouble.

And again, not saying it won't be a short series, just that it's dumb to write off a team after 1 game. Especially a team like the Heat that, so far, has had an answer every time they've been counted out.

lol

As long as there are games to be played, there's a chance.

When the Heat were up 3-0 on the Celtics, everyone had the Heat sweeping them and Mazulla fired.

After game 6, folks were talking about the Celtics becoming the first team to come back from 3-0 and I just read this morning that Mazulla will be retained.

Well said. This may very well be a short series, but calling it over just because of 1 game on the road is silly.

I also like Miami’s chances against Denver a lot better than I did against LA back in 2020.

@bksballer89

you think Yurtseven should get some burn? At this point, I trust him more than Love or Zeller.

Hell no lmao

Zeller defense is the best of the 3 but Love can get open looks because Jokic doesn't want to go out there.

I think they should go with Love in those limited minutes and just play zone when he's in the game so he doesn't get exposed on defense

I agree except for the Kobe comp.

Denver is definitely better. That is why I picked them to win in 5.

But Miami has also already beaten 2 “better teams”.

So it is foolish to rule them out.

IMO, this one presents match up problems the other 2 didn’t. So I think they will come up short.

But never say never.

Defensively, the Heat need to try to make Joker a "volume scorer".

The problem last night wasn't Joker scoring 27 points...it was Joker scoring 27 points on only 12 shots while dishing out 14 assists.

They need for him to get that 27 points on more like 20+ shots and cut that assist number down to under 10.

Problem is, throughout the playoffs so far, that's been proven to be very difficult to do.

He’s the leader but as a group they play beautiful basketball where they share the ball. Murray had double digit assists last night too.

This was still on the offense.

Denver had 59 at the end of the 1st half. No way in hell should you be down 17

Had 83 or something at end of 3 and had a 19 point lead.

Or maybe Orlando Robinson. All I know is Zeller hasn’t been very effective at all.
