I thought the defense did well tonight.

Lowest point total for Denver in a month. Second fewest points in a game this playoffs.

Gotta have more than Haywood Humphries hitting shots.

2nd half defense was solid. First half was ass...lots of miscommunication on screens

Miami only needs 1 game of the first two in Denver, but man, that was a Nuggets clinic. Sure, Miami shot poorly but I'm not sure if it would have made much difference if they hit them. Denver was cruising with Jokic not even breaking a sweat. Then when Miami got a little something going in the 4th, he started going for his own offense and shut that run down real quick. If it stays that easy, this is gonna be over quick.

what would concern me about the Heat is they were +15 points from 3.

If they are to win the series, or make it competitve, they will have to really outshoot the Nuggets from 3- and they hit 13 3's tonight........I guess we wil lsee.

Yea, for as bad as Heat fans think their team shot, Denver shot worse from 3. MPJ isn’t going to go 2-11 from three very often…

Miami needs to win from 3 point line I think....they did tonight- making 5 more 3's.....and it really was pretty much over before the 4th started.

That late flurry of 3s was all that kept this from being an even bigger win. Miami showed heart as usual, continuing to come back, but the lead drifted back up each time. Cover the shooters and Jokic will score. Cover Jokic and he'lll find the shooters and cutters. Maybe attacking him defensively to get him into foul trouble would be an edge to pursue?

Denver's 3 point shooting struggles played into that as well as Miami's D.

Butler, Strus, and Martin under-performed whereas Bam, Vincent, and Highsmith over-performed. Game 2 will be interesting to see who shows up and who doesn’t.

lol @folks claiming it'll be a short series after 1 game.

I'm not saying it won't be, but I've seen teams lose game 1 of a finals a helluva lot worse than the Heat just did and still win the series.

But, why just react when you can overreact? lol

Every year, every series.

Some people never learn.

I think it will be short too, but I thought that before game 1.

I still remember being in a sports bar watching the Showtime Lakers lose game 1 of the '85 finals to Birds Celtics 148-114 in the Memorial Day Massacre in the old Boston Garden. My friend who was a Celtics fan was talking about a sweep.

The Lakers won the series 4-2.

It would not be ideal but Denver would have done what they needed to.....protect home court.

Now, if Denver won game 3 after sweeping the Heat at home.....you'd have a strong point.

Yep. They have to pound the ball at him.....get him in foul trouble and out of the game.
