Morgan Frost still unsigned.
Cates 13-25-38 +3 $2,625,00
Frost 18-27-46 -12

I was really surprised when I saw Cates at +3. I didn't know anyone was a plus last year. Seeler was also a +1. Both sides should be happy at $3,000,000/yr for 2 years. Problem solved!

Cates could literally win a Selke someday. Probably not this coming year or next, but you get the idea. To play in all 82 games last season and still be sitting at +3 is spectacular. As a team, our goal differential was -55.

Agreed. To be a plus on last years team is really impressive. Adding in almost 40 points was a bonus. How about Seeler as a +1 in 77 games? Another surprise was Yok at only -1.

I like the 3 million per year or less. Its just plain weird why he hasn't been signed yet.

I can only guess that he wants more as he was being touted for 2C this year. Maybe he doesn't want 2 years and wants a Farabee contract. His options are limited as an RFA.

Seeler is just a rugged, reliable defenseman. Just about any team would be happy to have him as their 5th, 6th or 7th defenseman. And so, we'll probably get a valuable pick for both him and Staal at the deadline.

York could definitely be a star in the making. We just need to see more development this coming season and so on.

Ersson extended for two more years at $1.45M per, which also keeps him a RFA after 3 years. Definitely feels like he's next in line if Hart gets injured or traded, unless Sandstrom really bounces back. Even still, Ersson is still only 23, while Sandstrom is 26 and could walk after this coming season.

Looks like Pitt is throwing up a hail Mary to try to get Sid and Malkin one more shot at the cup. In a few years they will be in total rebuild :laugh3:

From The Hockey News:

CUTTER GAUTHER, LW, USA (PHILADELPHIA FLYERS)

When a player dominates and bullies his opponents in a summer tournament like Gauthier did at the summer showcase, you can’t help but get excited to see what he will look like in mid-season form. Gauthier has been a force of nature, using his blend of physicality and speed to get to the inside, where his impressive shot becomes lethal.

Gauthier was already one of the Americans’ best players at the world juniors last year, and he may be in contention to be their leading scorer over the holidays this time around. Gauthier can play center or wing, which should make him one of the Americans’ most versatile forwards when the powers that be select the final roster.

Time to see him in the big league.

According to CapFriendly, the average age of the Penguin forwards is 31.3 and their top 4 players (that take up 37% of their cap) are 36, 37, 33 and 36 years old, disrespectifully...Lol

Guentzel, the only high-end talent on their team that is still in his prime, just had ankle surgery.

They are really swinging for the fences in acquiring Karlsson, but idk who is going to actually defend for them. They must expect to win every game 7-6 and I don't see that sort of a team winning the Cup anytime soon either.

I'm absolutely shocked that they were able to add a player with a cap hit of $10 million though. That was some sort of magic trick.
