Im not sure the TDA trade will happen as of now Carolina has moved its sights to Karlsson. The LTIR rules are complicated. Id like to know why Ellis ever comes off LTIR. I guess if he is medically cleared we cant put him on that list and get the cap relief.
There is some difference when the player goes on LTIR. Apparently there is a benefit for being cap compliant on opening night and then placing the player on LTIR. Maybe place TDA on waivers and hope he is claimed. Flyers have to eat cap, but they were going to do that anyway. That and moving one of the goalies to the AHL should allow for Frost signing and still being under the cap on opening night.

Getting nothing for a RHD with 42 points (tied for 27th) in only 70 games would not be conducive to our rebuild. I dont think waivers is the route to go with TDA.

Doesn't look like anyone want's him. Problem isn't offense, he just stinks at defense. I definitely believe there will be trade value at the trade deadline, but what do we do with him before then?

He doesn't stink on defense as he was plus 30 the season before last and in his last three full seasons he was not a minus player. He just stunk on defense playing for us (Like Gudas Ghost etc) and didn't fit torts system. Shoot even Eric Gustafsson had 38 points last year. I have faith that TDA has value just have to wait a while and eat 50% of his salary.

He is definitely a below average in the defensive zone. We can agree to disagree on that. If Carolina can somehow pull off a Karlsson trade, then a TDA deal is dead. If no one else want's to trade for him, do you play him all year and hope to get something at the trade deadline?

I can definitely agree with you that he is a below average defender. If Carolina pulls out and gets Karlsson he wont be going there. I was reading that we would receive from Carolina Massimo Rizzo and Eric Reese for TDA and 50% of his salary. I do however think if Carolina falls through someone will want him and that its not panic time yet. If we cant get rid of him by the start of the season i would 100% play him until the deadline.

Not a good start.
Everyone in the room with that hot mic should be fired.

Winning teams - sports or otherwise, have a positive, get ‘er done attitude. This just shows how deep the rot is within the Flyers organization.

More info on this. The problem goes deeper. She's not the only diversity hire at the Inquirer. They made a big deal about getting rid of all the old white guys using a Temple University study that they specifically commissioned.

Penn state has a hockey team. They even have a female hockey team. Did she have any hockey experience? I haven't gotten to bottom of that and I'm not going to, but if she was hired because she had a hole instead of a penis that is bullshit and it causes these types of problems.

This was an organization that missed the playoffs only 8 times between 1967 and 2012 and that includes 5 consecutive seasons in the late 80s to early 90s.

From 2012-13 to 2022-23, they’ve almost matched the previous number as the Flyers have missed the playoffs 7 times, including the last 3 seasons.

Still Ed's fault for blowing up the home grown team that liked to party in Old City.
"I don't want there to be any Flyer happiness after I'm gone."
Thanks, ed

I read an article yesterday that said we will have no captain this season.

Wonder if Laughton will have the only letter - A- again. Giving Staal an A may not be a bad idea either.
