Yeah Skipper is already gone via Injury settlement. The same with Gilbert.

I agree something has to give because they can't be going the same route as backup RB. Zero depth at OLB like that is bad when you have one of the best in the league. You need a capable backup, if not when Watt is out other teams will just feast on that.

Funny when staring at the depth chart I thought he was just another college FA. Didn't realize he did that last season for the Jets.

Still not warm and fuzzy over him but better than other retreads they have.

I like this for a multitude of reasons...

• Ike knows work ethic. Dude knew exactly what it took to maintain a high level of play as a pro. Conditioning, technique, etc. Just maybe not hands lol.
• Ike knows the champ pedigree & culture. He brushed shoulders with some of the greatest players to ever walk these halls, and he was VERY close to the late Dan Rooney. He embodied the Steeler brand.
• Ike has maintained a hand on the pulse of this team. Always reaching out to younger guys & offering his help. Now that he is going to be staffed he will be more reachable for these young guys.
