Not sexy but this is a good thing
Billy i remember wanting him in the draftI'd like them to go after Billy Turner. He can play everywhere on the line (and very well!) but C.
Packers had to cut him as they gut their roster to fit in Rodgers and Adams' tag.
Same here. Keeps the cap space so they can go get the other players they need to make this a viable championship roster in a year or two.I am happy with this move.
Maybe.
Open competition between him and Trubs or is Trubs the clear day 1 starter?
He had horrible coaching in Chicago and spent a year in Buffalo where Allen developed into a stud....now Pitt offensive coaches can work with him.Like I said on another thread (don't know which one it was), but I would have found a problem with whoever we got no matter what. So here's my analysis:
Con - Mitchel Trubisky is an average QB who couldn't cut it as the starter for a losing team in Chicago.
Con - He settled for a backup job for Buffalo because noone would sign him as a starter.
Con - Not sure of the money behind it but I'm sure we overpaid for him.
Pro - He has a winning record as a starter.
Pro - He's agile and can be a decent mobile QB
Pro - He led the Bears to the playoffs in 2018 with an 11-3 record as a starter
Pro - Not too shabby TD:INT ratio (64 TDs, 38 INTs)
Overall feeling? Meh.
Trubs is better and he can move if he needs to.....Rudolph is a statue for the most part.
