Well he has spent the last 4 years defending that pick... Why stop now?

Interesting. If he returns to any form outside the complete controller disconnect on most plays they might do this.

The 5th year option has to be picked up by May 2nd of this year... I just don't see how they can justify that unless they really believe Flores can revive him. That's a shit ton of risk to take.

Unfortunately I think they will. The ego in the room that they moved up in the draft to take him they will.

What I am hoping for is that Flores talks to Bush over the next month and half and realizes he can't call a defensive play. Then Flores smacks Tomlin and tells him to let the ego go and make Bush earn another contract.

So true. Tomlin is always hell bent on giving "his guys" every benefit of the doubt. Its risky, but they could look like geniuses if Bush turns things around. He was freaky good until the injury. Miniaturized version of Lawrence Timmons that covered way more ground. Didn't quite have the same potential of what Shazier brought, and he hadn't reached his full potential yet. But he seemed broken beyond repair this year. Hate to drive a stake into his Steelers career, but the timing of his injury & his "bounce back" just doesn't make the 5th yr option a sound decision.

I’d give Yo Tee $11.3M before I’d give it to Bush

Yeah when you don’t have a QB salary that helps.

I'm not the most cap-savvy person here, but I'm confused about their cap space TBH... I've seen it reported as low as $22m and as high as $45m.

I truly think he is done.
Was just comin here to post about this lol. Yea this sounds like a real looooong shot to assume he’ll be back. It’s real concerning that they haven’t already had these conversations with him. And It’s strange how this is playing out.

Good no need to waste a pick on a RB at this point.
