its just a playbook

she also hit him

he grew up in a bad environment and this is all he knows

this has never happened before- he has no priors

Its not right--- just the way it goes.

the entity saying he can get a max of 11.8 years is the actual prosecutors office- who always throws the book of charges at someone right away- most of the time stuff that they cant prove- not saying that is the case in this circumstance- but its how they operate

plus- its Los Angeles- they basically let anyone break the law there now a days. violent criminals walk free all the time. its a joke.

his defense team will have millions of dollars and the best lawyers going up a "woke" prosecutor team that is overworked and understaffed. Plus- if they put everyone away for domestic violence for 10 years the US would have to build hundreds of more prisons

It seemed to me from the victim’s statement that this was not a 1 time thing and that Bridges had a pattern of this type of behavior.

This was just the first time reported.

If a pattern can be established, then I think he would a longer sentence.

Or at least I hope.

Unfortunately, if this is the first time it’s been reported it becomes more difficult to establish a pattern.

Fucking stole Mac from us....assholes.

Not worried about it personally. He's fun to watch, but I doubt he amounts to anything more than a curiosity really. Shannon Brown type at best.

Showing he wants to win.

Showing he wants to stay on a winning team. If he had opted in, odds are he has to go elsewhere for an extension if he sticks to his guns on salary.

I think by taking less shows something.

Has he really taken less? He took less for this coming season, but has guaranteed more. We'll see what everyone thinks his true value for 23/24 is and if that $35Mish feels like an overpay at that point. If it's an underpay, you can be sure he's opting out.

He gave the Sixers flexibility in improving the roster and they absolutely did that. And he left at least 14 million on the table.

Speaking facts gets you fined…checks out

LOL. Poor Lacob, the NBA's interest in balance doesn't allow him to hoard expensive players without penalty. Weep for the Warriors.

Competitor balance is what the league tells gullible people to pay players less

He'll get that 14M and more back next year if he opts in, which would assume he thinks he can't get more at that point (which would indicate below average production compared to his career stats). If he does play as well or better than last year, he'll opt out for more money.

He traded $15M in short term money for an extra year and the opportunity to earn that money back.

He bet on himself. Guys do that all the time. The most important thing he did was provide roster flexibility for the team. I bet you guys would have loved some of that with RW right now.

Nothing wrong with betting on himself, just pointing out that it wasn't some move of pure altruism that some are making it out to be. Mutually beneficial.

Even if Westbrook had opted out, the Lakers would still be over the cap (or close to it prior to free agency). His trade value, even in it's diminished state, is more valuable than having him completely off the roster.
