TD and TB. Maybe find a sleeper QB to develop to win 7 Super Bowls. That would be worth some draft picks.

Kidding aside, what if there is a BPA QB talent at #64 (say Carson Strong)? Would you consider adding a young project in the QB room with an eye on depth and perhaps creating value?
Nope. Russ has publicly said he has 5+ years so no way to I piss him off by grabbing anything but a late round flyer QB in the draft. If this year doesn't go well then maybe next year.

Apologize for any of the music selection on any highlight film I ever send. Just know you may want to turn the volume down.

I would think Russ would be pretty secure in his position on the team. Why not have a strong number two? (Carson pun intended)

Same thought. I don't think Russell is that dramatic. He knows he is our starter. However, I think Mountain might be agreeing with you but doesn't realize it. ;).. You said find a sleeper QB not draft one early. Don't think Wilson is going to give 3 poo poo's about drafting a QB on day 3. He isn't that type of a person.

Ya, a day 3 QB would be fine. Burning a 2nd on a QB doesn't make sense.

Matt Araiza, or this draft is a bust.

The way for this team to have a strong number two is to acquire a vet QB that can run an Offense that is built around Russell Wilson. Using draft capital to get a rookie like that would be a waste as that pick/those picks would be better suited for building the team around Wilson, eliminating weaknesses that would hamper him. This is not the time to screw around. We have a QB now. Make use of him.

If Ridder is sitting there at 64 be hard to pass him up.

Ridder would be a Free Agent before Wilson even sniffs retirement. Not sure we want to develop and invest in a guy who will likely not start here. This isn't the year to take a QB in Round 2.

The Broncos will probably draft a QB or sign a QB CFA who can hang on the Practice Squad for the 1st season of development and maybe two years. I agree - that won't come in an early draft pick.

Key thing you look for in a backup QB (barring you drafting one early to be your future) is a similar QB to run a similar offense if your starter goes down... Josh Johnson isn't Russell Wilson... But we don't have to change our offense around much if Johnson has to go into the game to relieve Wilson at some point. Similar style QB but one is way better then the other.. (The other isn't bad either though) not going to win a Super Bowl with him but he flows with the offense.

I'd say if Ridder is sitting there at 64 it would be an opportunity to trade down with a team still looking for a QB or pluck the next best BPA.
why not pluck BPA? Next best could be relative.

IMO, Stay true to your board. If Ridder is BPA I would draft him.

Two WRs I like - who should be available during the Bronco draft picks are:

Kyle Phillips - UCLA

Alec Pierce - Cincy

Mainly because you increase the odds of drafting a player who will contribute. So unless Paton is convinced Ridder would be a future starter, it's better to find the BPA's who will build depth in positions that will most help Wilson succeed.
