I'll be surprised if it happens that quickly. It's more likely the teams are sitting them because they plan to trade them some time before the deadline and just don't want to risk them getting hurt between now and Thursday.

It makes sense for the Nets to want to deal him quickly because they will still have work to do. If the Lakers trade both the picks to the Nets they might try and flip both them right away to another team for another player or 2 to try and save this season.

I wouldn't think so. It's rare you see teams do a deal and then take those pieces and trade them in a separate deal days later. Most of the time they just take their time and work it all into one giant multi-team trade. That's also why I'd be surprised if a deal got done this soon. If a deal is to the Lakers, there's gonna be more teams involved so its not gonna come together overnight

The conversation you’re getting caught up on put forth the idea that Garland should have been an All Star. It is what it is. You don’t think an 8-1 start could have been a product of limited tape and scouting?

Could it have been? I guess? Hell, it could have been their opponents put in a lot of player over parlays on their fanduel wagers with Cavalier players (or unders on themselves and their teammates).

Plenty of teams added new players but didn't start off 8-1 due to their opponent not having enough tape. But apparently, I guess, at game 10 they started to be able to scout properly?
