Rockets wanted more than the pick that brought in Melton. That move was Morey getting saved by the Houston front office that hates him. Melton is a much better two way player on a team with Harden Maxey Harris in your starting group being subpar defenders.

Seems like they just don't feel like doing the work of playing defense on the road. At home with the crowd behind them they get up for it, but on the road they are just whatever.

It's true and it's weird. It's the same ball, the same court. Are role players really that fragile?

And it's not just the role players playing bad on the road for the Ws. They just aren't hungry and why would they be?

Playing at home with the crowd supporting you and familiar settings both in the locker room and on the court bring comfort.

When players feel comfortable, they play better.

Also, very difficult to get in rhythm playing short stints that many role players get.

More likely to to struggle finding that rhythm in an unfamiliar setting.

Powell, Kennard if he’s ever healthy and Gordon would be redundant.

But, he can still play and help a contender get over the hump.
