You would think so.

They are going to make a trade by the deadline.

They have multiple mid tier contracts and a few picks to cobble together in a deal.

Zu, George, Kawhi, Powell are probably the only guys that don’t need to worry about getting dealt.

But, this could be the last time we see this incarnation of the Clippers.

If they don’t at least make it to the finals, why should Ballmer foot that tax bill?

The biggest reason is that they don’t own their picks until what looks like 2028?

If they we’re that worried about the tax they’d do a Russ trade now to clear their future tax bills

It also depends on kawhis health obviously

You might be right about powell, but I would argue you shouldn’t be.

Actually, what I’m saying is that he’s not. He’s really playing like a team first guy. I don’t think he’s ever been that guy in his career up until this point.
Because he’s finally on a team where he clearly isn’t the best player.

Dwight, Westbrook, CP3…..

He wasn’t taking a backseat to any of them.

Harden only had that for short spurts in Brooklyn.

Durant was clearly the best of the 3.

But, the dysfunction ended that situation before it really had a chance to begin.

They aren’t worried about the tax.

Im saying why pay that money for this group of guys that can’t get it done?

They would not go into a rebuild, that’s retarded.

They would simply attempt to swap stars for stars.

But, that’s a problem for next year.

3rd best player on the team.

With Kennard being gimp most of the year, they won’t trade a 39% shooter from 3 that’s putting up 16 a game.

Covington, Coffey, Boston asses are glued to the bench.

Those 3, Mook if anyone will take him, Batum as a last result would be the ones to go.

I like it, so the next 3 years the draft picks could possibly be something then.

Yeah, I just looked it up.

They will have a pick this year.

But, since they don’t control it, can’t deal it.

2028 or 2029 for a trade using a 1st.

Plus, six 2nd rounders, a trade exception and a bunch of mid contracts.

They won’t stand pat.

No freaking way.

If the Clippers don’t want to move anyone from their roster, they have a $9.7 million trade exception they could use to absorb someone. Utilizing the entirety of it would increase their luxury tax bill by as much as $60 million, however. They can trade a first-round pick in either 2028 or 2029 and up to six second-round picks to get a deal done.

I’m out. Dude is more moody and fickle than a woman on her period. If the Harden/Maxey group doesn’t work in Philly, they have one more swing with trying to work something around Embiid before he is diminished and out of his prime. Or the decision may be to trade Embiid and give up on building around him and sell high while Embiid is still in his prime.

Either way, Kawhi isn’t a great fit in either case.

Considering they’ve shown a willingness to buy picks they should be using those contracts glued to the bench to make a move

Eastern European big men can always pass well

I think European players are taught to be more focused on the fundamentals of the game. Over here it's too much about hitting 3's and highlight dunks.

I think the Eastern Europeans have been impacted negatively over time by Chernobyl. That’s why they’re all incredibly ugly people.

Possibly.

But, I don’t see them tearing it down for that very reason.

No incentive.

Theyd do some silly shit like trying to trade for Beal, Lavine in a star swap.

But, that’s for next year.

This year, they are gonna target a big and a pg.

Poetl, Turner, Vuvecic, Bamba.

Conley…but, please GAWD, not Lowry or D’Lo.

If the Wiz we’re inclined to take Powell and Kennard and a pick, they’d gladly accept Beal.

But, many teams can beat that offer.

Like the lakers you’re better off waiting to add another pick to an offer (28 and 30 in play this summer)

Unlike the lakers you have contracts to trade this summer so you can afford to wait
