At this stage in the season there's very little point in trading Westbrook along with first rounders. He's got 40ish games left before his salary comes off the books.

The Lakers are looking pretty solid, despite the injuries and Russ has been doing fairly well off the bench.

The Lakers aren't going to be NBA champs this year. But they stand a good chance to make the playoffs and maybe make it past the first round if they're completely healthy.

If the right deal comes around that brings back pieces to use beyond this season, then the picks and Russ could still be in play. Otherwise...?

I agree. But it's a lot of "ifs". And so far nobody is knocking on the door.

The last thing I want is the team to have no cap space (again)

You aren’t going to have a lot anyway unless you let everyone , including reaves and walker, leave

Yeah but at least they'd have something to offer those two. Something they didn't have when Caruso and Monk walked away for nothing.

If Bryant keeps playing the way he is, even with AD in the lineup, he deserves a raise and the Lakers should give it to him.

Agreed.

Maybe some mild trades, like Bev/2nds for Burks and Nunn/2nds for Reddish would balance things out a bit better. Burks salary for next season isn't guaranteed, but Reddish has a qualifying offer due and a large cap hold, so maybe he isn't going to happen after all. If they think they aren't going to have enough cap space for Bryant, they should see what it would take for Turner or Vanderbilt. Getting a replacement for Bryant moving forward with Bird rights could be key. Maybe Walker gets moved too (for a player with Bird rights)?

Nice to see Swider getting minutes and hitting 3s now that he's over his foot injury, maybe he keeps a piece of the rotation as everyone gets healthy.

AD's a damn good player but he could get injured checking his phone. Have the Lakers thought of making some kinda bubble wrap suit he could play in to avoid injury?

Dallas likely to finish 6th-8th and as much as i love luka that will not be good enough for MVP.

I don’t think he wins in the end either…

But he is more likely than Embiid because of the ridiculous stat line and the lack of support players in Dallas.

That being said, in all honestly, I hope that by introducing Thomas Bryant at the 5 and having AD play the 4 more often, it relieves a lot of pressure on him being the sole 'Big' on the floor. Might not get banged up so often,

Mitchell is great and all but is he stunting Mobley's growth?

Mobley sure hasn't taken the next step in his 2nd season.

They added a 30 ppg scorer and Mobley’s scoring only dipped .8.

Barnes scoring dropped .6 and they added….nobody.

Cavs are 10 games over .500 and the Raptors are 5 games under.

Guess what that means?

Nothing.

Sophomore slump, they will both figure it out.

Didn't realize the Lakers are depleted on the front line like that. I haven't watched many Lakers games this season so don't know Bryant's game. But keeping AD outta the 5 spot seems like a good idea. He seems to like the 4 better.
