Mitchell damn sure didn’t take any steps in his second season, third either for that matter.
Just asking because even some Cavs fans on here were wondering that (if it might stunt his growth) after the Mitchell acquistion.

Mitchell is great and all but is he stunting Mobley's growth?

Mobley sure hasn't taken the next step in his 2nd season.
Why? Bc Kendrick Perkins said it lol.

His issues right now could be still adjusting but really it's offensively. Another issue stunting his growth is he still doesn't have a jumpshot, not at all. HIs footwork is advanced for 20 years old but he seems to miss easy shots.

One thing I worry about is his hands. He fumbles a lot of passes...seems a bit clumsy.

Defensively, no issues at all.

Nobody is stunting his growth, he just needs to find a decent jumpshot and gain weight gradually. Still averaging 15 ppg shooting 55% and defenders do not respect him on the perimeter.

There’s a really good article on the athletic about that entire draft class

I think it was expected for everyones' numbers to take a hit, that is only natural when you add a great scorer. Mobley still has a ton to work on. Weight, finding a jumpshot, less clumsy at times...most of those will come in time hopefully. I mean a decent jumpshot could take 4-5 years.

Less than a fucking point per game.

He totally got that shit from one of the clowns on the boob tube.

Mobley is most definitely the future.

That high scoring backcourt is the PRESENT.

The fact that guys like Mobley and Barnes started out so hot out of the gate is the only reason it appears that they have plateaued.

People will be saying the same shit about Banchero next year.

All 3 will be just fine.

Scottie and Evan aren't the best players on their teams......YET.

So, not sure why folks are surprised.

I expected Evan to take a sizeable leap this year too.

But, the Mitchell acquisition delayed that timeline a bit.

Yeah.

This is exactly the type of shit deals that only benefit the Lakers that @Stakesarehigh was talking about.

Yea

Burks could potentially have a future in Detroit

But for certain Bev doesn't

So detroit is trading a possible piece for a 2nd rounder? Why?

Because the Cavs don't have to rely on Mobley to be the man right now his improvements are small but they are there.

His shots are slightly down from last season From 12.0 to 10.5.

His FG% has gotten better (.508 last season / .551 this season)

And his rebs, asts and FT% have all slightly improved.

Burks for a 2nd and the right to waive Pat Bev

Which would be kinda insane for the Lakers to deal him also.

They’d be better off sending nunn and Jones or brown with 2 seconds and keeping bev

Pistons get paid twice for burks

I don't understand dealing Bev. He is a glue kinda guy for the right team. Burks is a comp piece that fits better with certain teams

So it's not that Bev isn't a price to give its that he has zero role in detroit

Hey thanks.

It helps that I've watched every Cavs game this season except for when they played the Nuggets. This is the 2nd season in a row I've been in NBA overdrive. Just about every night I watch and DVR games. I actually like DVRing them better. Can FF through the TO's and HT.

The only reason the Pistons should trade him is if his contract demands or excessive or be looses his mind and demands to be the starter next year.

You cannot have a roster full of children.

Just look at the fuckery that's being reported outta Houston.

I keep seeing reports that Silas won't make it to the All-Star break because his backcourt is running roughshod.

Eric Gordon is hanging on by a thread.

That's who the Lakers should be targeting on the cheap.

Because, he's about to cane one of those little mofos if they don't trade him soon.

Right

I’m just saying the lakers just need to match salary

Bev can stay and they can still add burks

You came with the stats that clearly illustrated your point.

They could also pivot to Gordon in Houston, Beasley in Utah if Burks is too expensive.

Smaller guys.

But, they can fill the role Buddy would have occupied.
