Here’s the problem: How?

They need Westbrook’s salary, which would be off the books.

They would have to trade Lebron or Davis.

Saving within the season, not for this summer.

Sooooooo…

Let me make sure I have this straight…

A 6ppg rapidly declining, undersized guard , a trash as fuck 4 ppg undersized shooting guard and a kid that’s currently in the 6th grade is too high a price for a guy averaging 21 ppg that’s shooting 41% from 3?

Negotiation. Until someone else antes up, the Lakers will push for protection on that pick. I would imagine that is the ONLY hold up there.

The issue with protection is that it could cost you using your other pick. Basically a self inflicted wound at that point

Alright, I will say it.

If the Lakers are too cheap to make a deal like this one…

I am going out on a limb to predict they don’t win another title with the current ownership group.

Who's next out of the litter? Jesse Buss? He's running the South Bay Lakers currently I believe?

I guess that means the 2027 goes unprotected to the better deal and the 2029 is available protected? I don't know, it's hard to give a shit about picks 4 and 6 years down the road. Being so precious about them is admitting a lack of confidence in their ability to build through Lebron/AD and beyond smoothly.

By 2029 both might be retired

KD is gonna be sidelined for a month if not more.
He'll be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.

Davis might be back this week.

If his brittle bone ass can back the odds, why not KD?

If KD had a bone spur/foot fracture he'd be out a lot longer than 1 month.
That said....I do think AD's "sideline fashion choices" errr...(street clothes) are a lot better than KD's.

Doesn’t sound like the Buss kids have the bankrolls to be tax payers.

Lakers are worth billions.

They should sell to someone (or a group) who is able and willing to pay tax.

When the lakers are good they can easily pay the tax

These lakers are not that…

The buss family can’t absorb major losses, that does make sense

The sad reality is all this bullshit luxury tax bs has driven away family ownership to corporate ownership.

Debatable if that’s honestly a good thing either
