I agree, the cat is kind of out of the bag. I probably start by trying to get it back in the bag on a few other things first, no question if I’m in charge there would be a long lockout right off the bat lol.

There is only 1 fix.

Eliminate back to backs.

That is on the league, not the organizations

Doesn't matter. Shit changed

Same reason MLB players doesn't play 162 anymore either.

Guys playing all 82 just not going to happen anymore

Exactly.

Because teams have correctly learned it is more important for their core guys to be healthy and rested for the playoffs.

How long have there been back to backs?

Doing things a certain way because “that is how we have always done them” is a cop out.

And it is the wrong answer.

You just want guys to suck it up and play through minor injuries and soreness during relatively meaningless regular season games.

It isn’t realistic.

People do not realize just how good Jarret Allen is. He is becoming one of the best centers in basketball. His play thus far is going to get him in consideration for a back to back all star nod. He deserves it. Cavs have the #2 defense (last time I checked) and he is the biggest reason why.

Mobley is getting very solid defensively too. Having those 2 guys signed up forever is just awesome.

Good win without Mitchell after they blew the game vs. the Kings without him.

Mitchell/Garland/Mobley/Allen is a nice core.

Miami and Chicago were 2 teams I thought had a chance to be above the Cavs in the standings at the end of the year. Its nice to have a opened up a little bit of a lead on both of them while they struggle.

Cavs still have a long way to go - they def. have not been great at the end of a lot of these games- but its been fun thus far and I think they will only get better. They are not on the Boston/Milwaukee level but they are def. on the next tier in the East- and might just be able to pull off a 3 or 4 seed.

Problem is the season is longer if you eliminate it

We just had a season that took a year lol

The players can't have both because the owners won't shorten the season. So if they want less back to backs then lengthening the season would be the solution.

Personally I don't care. I think it's kinda lame but soccer is probably the most comparable sport and guys take days off all the time and no one cares.
