To some degree, a recently put together core of players is going to be tough for either coach.

He did have some luck there, as two of the key pieces were teammates and the third played with them the year previous, so those three already had some chemistry.

It's too bad Beasley really went stone cold from 3. I still think they should've tried him in the Denver series when the Walker magic didn't strike a second time. A streak shooter might have stolen one of those games. I think part of Beasley's struggles was the staff's infamiliarity with his game, getting the right picks set and such. If he's back (at a reduced rate), he might show better after a full camp with the team.

Not really. I saw/read something from the commish that basically said they don't want their top guys playing international basketball every other summer so this roster isn't surprising

Good hire. He was really well respected by the players and he’s been given credit for much of the gains Maxey has attained.

Yeah that’s why it’s not as good…top players aren’t playing. It’s just different nowadays, just like all this shot with load management

Their top guys ARE international in many cases. Either that or old, or in trouble, or....
