Saw your comment and it got me thinking if any other players have won MVP and didn't have homecourt in the 1st round. So I looked some stuff up.

Moses Malone in 1982 and Westbrook in '17. Both were 6 seeds those seasons.

I think Embiid's MVP. Been saying that most of the season.

Sure Jokic is having another damn good season. But he shouldn't win the award this season it simply wouldn't be right. The others that have 3-peated all won a title during their MVP seasons. I'm not even sure the Nuggets will be the favorites come playoff time in the WC.

Now it's too close to call. I don't have a dog in this fight so it'll be interesting for me to see who gets it.

Can't go wrong with either one, both are deserving.

I think it could come down to one stat. If Jokic finishes the season averaging a legit trip-dub, he's at 9.9 asts right now, this will be the closest MVP race of all time. Without averaging a true trip-dub don't think Jokic has a chance at winning again. Voter fatigue & the fact the other 3-peaters all won rings. I don't see the Nuggets winning it all this season.
