Lets not act like Embiid doesn't have his fair share of going MIA in big spots in the playoffs

I’ll start. The bubble guts game 4 vs Toronto in 2019. After that it’s the turnover game vs Hawks. But now I’m done. That’s two subpar playoff games I’ve got. Enlighten me. We’re trying to get to a point where it’s even Stephen with Embiid getting hunted the way Jokic does in that 7 game format.

Yep. Or, as a couple of other folks said, sit him vs. the Suns who were without KD and play him against Joker and the Nugs.

The way it was done is kind of a bad look.

The way it was done gives him rest Sunday Monday Tuesday and possibly Wednesday and Thursday depending on how they decide to treat the Wednesday game and him playing. The other sit scenario provided much less rest.

For me it's not even defense. If his team was winning ships I wouldn't care. You can't be 3 time and never reach a WCF in that time frame.

There is no reason to add requirements for repeat winners. Is he the MVP this season, all that matters. Not last year or the the year before.

The only reason 3 time holds as much cache as it does is because the voters get bored and stop voting for obvious choices in past years. There would be more 3 time winners otherwise.

Another example of shifting rules though, right? When Jokic is missing his #2 and #3 for big chunks of the previous two years, you hold it against him when his team is a lower seed or doesn't get it done in the playoffs.

I never said he was. He is not a black hole however and can get his put backs and hit 2/3 of his FTs, all that is required of a defensive big in most casers. It's not my fault his team overpaid for him. He is exactly the player he has always been.

Because he was an elite offensive player with historical production. Unfortunately, it takes more than one player to win a championship.

Missing yesterday’s game doesn’t change my opinion, I had it Embiid then, I have it Embiid NOW.

But, for voters on the fence?
